I just signed up to that message board, and man their are some mean spirited dicks on there! And I can't wait to talk some smack on there. I see some of names on there that post here, I was wondering if I could get any tips on navigating that board? I know this may not merit posting here but what the hell I thought I'd give it a try.

Hey, we already have a "shakes" on there!! I am a regular visitor there. biggest issue on THAT board is all the "inside" humor reserved for the inner circle of pantsless cretins (ICOPC). If you are new to the board, they will find something they don't like about you. A bunch of elitists blowhards. I have been a regular since January & enjoy aggravating most of them!

To get a good understanding of that board, the "OG @ Sporting News Radio" thread is a must read. OG was a d-bag who used to post there under false names and defend himself. That particular OG thread, I believe in the "OTHER ESPN AND 670 TALENT" group will get you familiar with many of the people who post there.

For the record, there was a guy nicknamed "OG", who used to do sports "Flash" updates nationally on Sporting News Radio nationally, when they were down the dial at 820 AM and based in Northbrook. His real name, Mike Ogulnick, went down the dial to do local "SportsCenter" updates a few years ago at ESPN Radio 1000. He also had a brief cup of coffee as pre, halftime & postgame host of ESPN 1000's coverage of Chicago Bulls Basketball before leaving Chicago completely about 4 years ago. (That was before the Bulls moved their broadcasts for a season to the former 105.9 WCKG and started to produce their own broadcasts, even before 105.9 "Fresh"-ened their format and the Bulls moved back to ESPN 1000.) Ogulnick left the market completely to do similar work as pre & postgame host for the Texas Rangers Radio Network. By the way, I'm one of the "know-it-alls" that some of the guys tease on Redacted. I try to inform & provide background whenever possible, regardless if I'm here or on Redacted.

Board was better years ago (I know, weren't all message boards!) place is just a big circle jerk now, most of the legends have gone and a few prominent regulars are bigger know it all's then Bernsie but without the smarts.

Prepare to get your balls busted, there are some real smart asses on that site and some know-it-alls. Shark (one of the good guys) posts regularly on that site and takes some ribbing sometimes because of his informational posts.

I look at that board every now and than but it seems there are only about 15 people that do 98% of the posting.
The only sections that really have visitors, in my opinion, are Daniel Mac and the Afternoon Saloon.
If you want to get some love right away tell them you a close personal friend of Elmhurst Steve.

There is no competition between CSFMB & CRM. They are both very different and both fun in their own ways. I have always said how much I enjoy this board. My tip to Shakes the Clown was pretty accurate: "Wear a cup" because sometimes you will end up taking a shot to the jimmies here. It's all part of the CSFMB experience. I would not call any of the few comments on there much of an "attack." Compared to what gets written on here every hour, it's pretty tame stuff.

To "garo aida" who posts on CRM sometimes as "Rika Nishimura": the reason you first saw the "Your message has been submitted to the board administrator for approval. If it is approved, it will appear on this message board soon." message is because you posted after Midnight. I will often put the board into approval mode after Midnight (and then free it up again by 6:30am) to keep the Russian spammers and gay porn trolls away while I catch a few ZZZZs. All message that aren't spam or porn get released in the morning. Here is what "Rika Nishimura" had to say at 12:06am:
I can't remember which WSCR host commented about that board, but it was something along the lines of "a bunch of guys in their underwear posting from their parents basements when not looking at porn."
Nothing was censored.

I visit the board and never post for all the reasons stated here. The "circle jerk" post, I believe, was from former Score guy Mike Murphy.
I check the board for interesting points to be made on the teams, the stations, or the talent. Haven't seen anything close to intelligent in a long time.
