Going to one soon. Not bringing my wife. This is normal correct?

Post subject:  Re: School Reunions

All the television shows featuring reunions involve the wife.

As an aside, you are class of___?

Going to reunion--completely normal.

Not taking your spouse--not normal.

Talking about wives is off limits.

The only people I want to talk to from high school I still do. Unless I'm trying to get laid, I wouldn't go. You should bring the wife

Conns you went to Mt Carmel right?

Its all guys. That may change the bring the wife question a little.

Just make sure you're drunk.

Post subject:  Re: School Reunions

Are you embarassed to bring her for some reason? I guess I would leave it up to her.
Good luck. High school sucked enough when I went through it the first time, I personally
have no interest in seeing most of the people I went through it with. Anyone I still want to
have contact with I either e-mail or have them on Facebook and follow them that way. To
each their own though, hope you have fun.

I haven't been to one yet. I don't really see the point. My 20 is supposed to be this year sometime.

I hope you graduated early like Doogie Howser, otherwise you're old. :o

I was 17 when I was at NIU, but I'm still old compared to most people here other than Hawg Ass.

No need to go Spanky.

50% of your class works at the Chrysler plant in Belvedere, or at Sundstrand because their parents worked there.

the other 50% are traveling from Rockford to Elgin or Chicago for temporary work.

edit:

45% travel from Rockford to Elgin or Chicago, and 5% were smart to leave a few years after graduation.

I have mixed feelings about a high school reunion.

Part of me wants to go to see all of the chicks I liked back then that are now old, fat and ugly.

Part of me wants to see the so called "cool guys" that are now old, fat and ugly.

Part of me wants to see said chicks tell me "Ooh Camps, you turned out to be fine".

But the mature part of me says "Fuck it, who cares?"

Pretty sure this is a "miss". How can anything be considered "crammed" inside of that thing?

I considered going to my reunion until facebook drama broke out because the date of the reunion was on 9/11 and some called it disrespectful. I guess stupid high school drama doesn't have to stop when you graduate.

I always thought you should donate it to the Museum of Science and Industry ( when you are done with
it of course). I am sure kids on field trips would love to see that thing on display.

Post subject:  Re: School Reunions

Seems like reunions are mostly for the people that "peaked" in high school. Others go because they feel like they have to.

My middle school organized a reunion once. Seriously. Talk about peaking way too soon. :?

Or maybe sit inside of it as a class and have lunch during a field trip. :eye:

I went to my 25-year grammar school reunion a few years ago. There are a big turnout, probably about 85 to 90% of a 50 or so person class, but only a couple people brought their spouse.
