If you could lock Jorge Soler's MLB performance right now at DeAza's numbers averaged over seven seasons, would you do it or take your chances that he will be much greater than that?

If I may piggyback on this thread, here is another statement. Do you agree or disagree?

The White Sox have a better "25 and under" team than the Cubs do. Discuss.

Thread started by one Sox fan, hijacked by another.

How's that first place team doing?

In the majors or system wide? Majors yes, system wide no.

Why are you so sure DeAza himself will maintain those numbers?

I'm not. In fact, I'm pretty sure he won't. That isn't the point. You will be disappointed if Soler does what DeAza is doing right now during his Cubs career. And that's unrealistic. Like Frank is telling you in the other thread.

Yes. I will be disappointed if Soler doesn't play a full season in the majors until he's 28 years old.

Who in the system is a major league talent that changes that? Do the White Sox have anyone worth anything in the minors?

There isn't a scout around that wouldn't comfortably rate the Cubs farm system better than the Sox. It obviously doesn't mean a thing until the make the majors and produce

I'm not asking who has the better rated minor league system. I'm just wondering what players in the Cubs minor league system overcomes the advantage the Sox have on the major league club with people 25 and under. I'm also interested to know if the Sox have anyone under 25 in the minors who is good.

What makes you say that? I sure as hell didn't vote.

So you'll be satisfied if Soler is like DeAza?

Sometimes it doesn't happen until they are 29. Phil Rogers can then proclaim greatness, even though he has to sit against lefties .

So you're saying De Aza will be an all-star by the age of 29?

No, I don't think either are all-stars.

What I said was, "Sometimes it doesn't happen until they are 29. Phil Rogers can then proclaim greatness, even though he has to sit against lefties."

Tony LaRussa agrees with Rogers.

Tony LaRussa is also a giant ass-hat who likes to drive drunk, and threaten media members. In my world, a player that can't play against left-handed pitchers is not an all-star.

Totally agree. I just think he probably knows more about baseball than Phil Rogers does.

I agree with that, even though he left Cueto off the team.
