Why are our roads bucking under 100 degree tems but Vegas does not?

Why are our roads bucking under 100 degree tems but Vegas does not? Thanks for your answer.

If I had to wager a guess, I would think its because of the soil underneath the roads and not the actual roads themselves. The land/soil here is quite different than in Vegas. |

contraction and expansion. it's worse after rain, but we haven't had much of that. mostly just extended heat. I would guess Vegas experiences this as well, but I think they tar all their roads to reflect surface heat. |
