Let's say the Score could only keep one host, and it was decided on fan vote. Like a Survivor Island, Loser Leaves Town match or whatever. Who would you keep and why?

I'd take Mac. I think he's a lot funnier, and overall more entertaining. He gets what sports radio is supposed to be. Characters questions are valid when building a franchise around him though.

No. Think of it as the Score starting over Expansion Draft style and building a completely new lineup with one or the other as the featured afternoon drive host.

If it was strictly on sports knowledge and ability to format a show Bernstien.
On who I like to listen to because he talks about more than sports and does it in an enjoyable way that takes my mind off my problems,Mac
So I vote for Mac

This. Both entertain me. Dan B still has another 15-20 years if he wants

Bernstein showing signs of rapidly declining range has to be a concern. I'm not sure age is a huge factor. Get either one motivated and supported by the right people and you can have a decade-plus run with either still.

Mac has a hole in his game. NBA.

Anyway, we all know the Dans will go 1,2

Who goes 3rd?

Hood, Goff, and Rosenbloom are on my board.

Bernstein just due to the variety of topics that he can discuss. I mean the way he switches from Penn State football to child molestation on a daily basis is outstanding. The range that he has shown in the past 5 months is incredible.

True but his intangibles easily overcome that. Take the past two weeks for example. With no NFL or NBA news really pressing headlines, Mac is able to take any topic, or usually a variety of them, and still make an entertaining show. That's where his comedy range is a huge plus. Bernstein is stuck doing self-important Penn St garbage because he doesn't know what else to do. Friday Fung has been one of B&B's best segment the past month because it feels like a segment Mac would do.

That's a positive for me. I would keep Mac. I cant listen to Berns anymore. I honestly don't know how anyone can be such a prick to others 24-7.

If I have to choose co-hosts, that would be Boers hands down. Spiegel sucks.

Hood, Goff, and Rosenbloom are on my board.

Can Hood be seriously considered? Im wondering if he will ever see significant air time again. Theres a group of us that seem like big fans, but it seems like he isnt getting a shot.

I'd take Connor pretty high. He has a higher ceiling than almost any of the guys left. If Im drafting third though I go safe and take Goff because he has the highest floor. But Im not thrilled with it.

True and Bernstein does have holes in his game too (college sports, hockey), just not as gaping.

Mac also has the T.O. factor. Suspensions are to be expected.

I'd be willing to say that Mac has a broader appeal, but Dan has more loyal fans.

Sorry to do this Brian, but I also like Hood, Goff & Rosey. Add Rozner & Drinky & my list is complete.

And the Josh Hamilton factor. Need a reliable sponsor. I'm not even hating. Anyone who has dealt with drug people knows how it is.

Im not taking that into account though. He's buried for whatever reason. The talent is there.

You're right. Id probably take Conor with the third or fourth overall (knowing it might take a few years for devolopment)

The fact that Larry is not on this list is getting you a lot of points.

Goff and Connor would be up on the list.

Im taking Finfer as producer. Im hoping he doesnt have any on-air ambitions soon and he is clever and good with drops/sound bites and great in the EP role. Been a big fan of his work since MJH.

SHARK - Im curious who you voted for, Mac or Bernstein? I picture you as more of a Bernsie guy.

I know he likes to repeat some of his phrases, sometimes to his detriment("Rex Grossman with a ring"), but he seems much more committed to B&B news than Mac news. I didn't think that was because of Boers.

Yes, but if you combined the leftover parts we don't like it would be a person you would want to beat to death on a daily basis. Like combining the BRick and IMU leftovers. Yikes.

True, but I think the point is their positive qualities easily outweigh their negative qualities both in degree and in frequency. If you accumulated all their positive and negative traits into one you'd still have a pretty phenomenal host.
