Post subject: | My Wife |
As I have previously mentioned my wife’s health concerns, I believe that it is appropriate to provide an update. Some time ago, it was discovered that she had some potentially cancerous activity going on. The area of her body is unimportant, except to say that it was in a bad area. Not like cancer of the fingernail. There was an attempt to remove this vile and evil tissue. It failed. There was a second attempt to remove it. It failed again. By this time, we were not going to take any chances, and she went to a nationally known oncology surgeon at Loyola in Maywood. This was the September, 2012 surgery that I have referenced. There has been testing since the procedure. We believe that this surgery has worked, but we will be monitoring it for some time. Mentally, I have returned to the point where I can again focus most of my attention upon the Glorious New York Yankees franchise. Should they fail, I hope that I can again call for the termination of Joe Girardi without any worry of bad karma. I am letting Brian Cashman off the hook since his father just died. Let the record clearly reflect: I am against cancer, even for people I do not care for, like Dustin Pedroia. If that bald headed midget got cancer, my official position would be sadness. Maybe if there was still a Hitler and he got cancer, I might feel sort of happy, but I would stifle it. Maybe if Hitler got hit by a Yoo-Hoo truck, you could feel happy, because what are the chances you will be hit by a Yoo-Hoo truck? I will take those odds any day of the week. I always look both ways when I cross a street. Anybody can get cancer, however, so you do not want to tempt fate. What if Hitler killed himself? Well, I would throw a party, because that is not going to happen to me. It must be tough to live in Germany nowadays if your last name is Hitler. I bet most of those people changed their name. |

Glad to hear your wife has what appears to be a clean bill of health. Sincerely hope it stays that way. I don't care for the Yankees but if winning a playoff game makes you happy then I hope that happens. I was kinda rooting for Baltimore this year since it had been so long for them to do anything noteworthy. |

I have a hard time mustering up sympathy for a Yankee fan, but your wife deserves it because she's married to one. Seriously, best wishes for a speedy recovery to her sr86 |

If it was cancer of the liver, I hope she could get a transplant, if needed, as quick as Mickey Mantle did. Glad to hear she is doing better |

Trust me, I never discuss Hitler when I am feeling down. That is a recipe for an emotional disaster that any home chef could easily prepare. |

Post subject: | Re: My Wife |
Let me share a little story if I may. When all of this was happening, the New York Football Giants lost to the Dallas Cowboys, and I could not help but be very irate. Let me be more honest - I actually threw my hands around wildly and swore loudly. Then my wife chastised me and I felt great shame. I cannot help who I am, I am not a perfect human. Yes, it is true that my wife will banish me to a remote part of the home during certain sporting events. But I am not an animal. If you prick my finger, will it not bleed? Last night, Phillip Hughes loaded the bases with a 3 - 1 lead. Before you know it, the great Boone Logan had completely blown the game. I politely excused myself, went to the basement, and kicked a chair several times while swearing at a mild volume. Previously, I would have kicked one of the upstairs chairs while loudly swearing. So I am pleased to report great progress in the continuing development of stoneroses86. |

Glorious news, StoneRoses. I couldn't imagine how tough that would be, if I had to deal with that type of situation involving my wife or kids. |

Her's wishing continued good news to you and your family, SR (although it would appear that you're doing well for yourself, what with having both upstairs and downstairs kicking chairs.) |

Frank Coztansa wrote: How many chairs have you broken since the O's have closed on that lead, SR? None, only because I have become more careful with household items. The last chair that I actually broke was in 2009, during the Twins series, after Alex Rodriguez made an out at a critical part of one of the games. It was a swivel chair with wheels, and I tossed it about five (5) feet. As fate would have it, it must have landed just right, and one of the wheels broke off. I successfully claimed that I had simply slumped down in it and it had broken. Luckily enough, it was a basement chair, and was not noticed for several months, so there was no causal connection established between playoff baseball and the damage. More problematic was the slight rip in the carpet, caused by the jagged edge of the broken leg. As to this, I successfully claimed no knowledge. Given that, there simply was no evidence against me. |
