Was going to post this in the twitter section, but I noticed that it's been pruned.

I was blocked by David Haugh because I mentioned that Urlacher was giving him crap in a Waddle and Silvy interview. I also gave Haugh crap (once or twice at the most) about not going on with Boers and Bernstein. I was never disrespectful or used bad language. But I heard he's a pud anyway.

No one because I've never used it. I'm still trying to keep up with Instagram and Facebook. Throwing too much social media at me just confuses me.

When you can see someone's tweets when you're not logged in. But when you try to read their tweets while you're logged in and it says something like "This user's tweets are protected" or something, that should let you know.

Gary Whitta...I'm guessing maybe one or two people here will have heard of him...

...he loves Google plus and loathes Facebook...so much so, that he felt the need to talk about it on twitter. All the time. (think Dan Bernstein/Penn State).

I unfollowed him, but still saw some RTs of his since I followed many people who were friends and/or fans of him. Then one day I saw a tweet of his in my timeline complaining about everyone sharing those George Takei photos on Facebook and his desire for an app that would block them from his Facebook (which sucks so much, I tell you!).

I decided to have some fun:

@lipidquadcab 05 Aug
@garywhitta if only there were a Twitter app blocking people's retweets of your incessant bitching about Facebook.

Didn't take long for a response:

@garywhitta
@lipidquadcab here I’ll take care of it for you - BLOCKED.

Thing is...I still see RTs of him... :(

And I'm wondering what's taking so long for RPB to give his story. And I believe some of you all have been blocked by Dan Bernstein for Anti Penn State talk stuff.

Jason Goff - for calling him out on his poor sports thoughts and then having him accuse me of being a "homer" after having no rebuttal to my accusations (thin skin)

Dan Bernstein - for pointing out his hypocrisy on certain topics, even though I generally agreed with him (also thin-skinned - I am a fan of Bernstein in general - there are many exceptions)

I have actually been blocked by Bernstein because someone retweeted something he said and I believe I responded to my friend that I found it creepy that a grown man is so fascinated by all the events that were going on with Penn State.

I'll just say this: If you ever run into Noam Chomsky at the Costco or something, refrain from good-naturedly calling him "Noam Chumpski," because the man clearly has no sense of humor.

I'm still trying to figure out a reason to go on Twitter. I'd like a reason but every insight into its workings looks like something created by a coporate partnering of Paris Hilton and satan

There are dolphin fanatics around the globe who are starving for any morsel of wisdom from the great water mammal. When the dolphin tweets, the masses will be fed.

Twitter was great during the lockout. Twitter is great during free agency periods. Twitter is great for injury news. Twitter is pretty great for everything really as it is FIRST to report anything and everything.

It also holds sini in check.

It also is the first to misreport just about everything and throw up its hands and claim "its only Twitter". Twitter breaking news is just slightly more reliable than "my cousin knows a guy who knows a guy who knows the GM".

Not true. If you're reading something from the usuals, like Chris Mortensen, Schefter, Buster Olney, etc, and they post it, it's believable. If you're reading something from Joe in Bridgeport, then that's on you for believing it.

When it comes to getting news on twitter, it's all about following the right people and weighing their info accordingly...the only time in recent memory that I've been burned by this was with the SCOTUS ruling on the health care bill and, surprise surprise, that happened in the mainstream media too.

Yeah, you have to avoid it if you're not watching a game in real time.....

Those are the people who get unfollowed.

The vast majority of people I follow are pretty good about keeping it at a minimum...there are others who are good at this but RT like crazy...it those aren't of use to me, I simply check the "no RTs from this user" box and carry on.

Yeah I'm up to 430, and I fully understand what you mean. I don't mind seeing tweets from all of the reporters and other sports people, but I follow some family and friends that I could do without. I don't need to see you retweeting everyone that says Good Morning back to you. Before I follow anyone now, I check to see how many tweets they have. If they are over 5000, I tend to not follow them.

One guy, State St Sports, follows like over 20000 people...there is no way I could do that.

So why would you ever choose to follow somebody like that anyway? You choose whose tweets you get. The ones I follow are oddsmakers,prodessional gamblers or journalists, not random people who would pass along rumors as you describe.
