I submit my write-in vote on behalf of Darryl Horwitz and his "Sunday Sports Shootout" @ 11 AM on WLUW (88.7 FM).

Good choice. It took them awhile to gel, but they've come together nicely and consistently deliver the most entertaining show on WSCR.

Agreed, they have to lose Toby though...

W&B is a fine Saturday show.

Mac and Spiegs have the best SHOW in general. Spiegs works hard and finding info, finfer does some good production, Mac plays the role of the heavenly father over the group and it works.

Best "Sports" is Mully and Hanley! Yup...even Frank thinks Hanley Sports thoughts are good...and Mulligan does have the best Bears info of anyone with a regular show. So outside of the lack of humor some of you claim, best SPORTS...is Mully and Hanley!

Hanley does have good sports thoughts, just can't take mully ...like Silverman ...he suffers from an awful radio partner n gets no play on my radio.

In the early days of the Score, Boers and Hanley were a good listen.

Waddle and Silvy by far. Best guests, best interviews and imo just better hosts

I really like Mac but damn that show is absolute ptfb material more often than not

And they have zero votes in this poll. Good work.

I appreciate that, dolphin. But surprisingly, I didn't vote for The Laurence W. Holmes Show this year.

As much as people are down on them, I went with Boers & Bernstein. Still my favorite and they still know how to control an audience. Laurence is the goods, but he has a ways to go before he overtakes B&B...

Should have had a catagory for best sports talk personality as well. Mac, by a mile. When he's not on the show, it's an easy decision to switch to Silvy and Waddle.

I went with Mac. I have to say,I bet Terry Boers would be much better without Bernstein.

YOu should call in tomorrow and talk about how the Bears have a must win game on Sunday.

He should so he can avoid being mocked by Mac and Spiegel again.

I think (if I may say that in this instance) is Mac/Spiegs are best Sports Show.

B&B are the best Show on a Sports Station.

Whatever show Rozner is subbing on is probably the best sports info show.
I haven't listened to B&B all year, and like I've said before, you'd have to pay me
to listen to MAC AND SPEEEEEEEEGZZZZZZZZZZ (Nutsack and Queebs). HAven't listened to Mully and Hanley in YEARS.
I have absolutely no thoughts on ESPN1000.
Had the misfortune of catching SIR Shake That on TV over at in in-laws in Illinois over Xmas and he's as insufferable on TV
as he is on the radio.

Is Jim Rome making the switch to CBS/WSCR? Tape delay? RPB, anyone?

As a fan of B&B since day one, it pains me to say Mac & Spiegs have run circles around them this year. The Penn St obsession and Bernsie's seeming contempt for his own job ruined the show this past 365.

Yes and no to Jim Rome. His "Jungle" is relocating from Premiere Radio Networks, a unit of radio giant Clear Channel, to the new CBS Sports Radio Network starting one week from today from 11A-2P (CT). As things stand now, Rome's Los Angeles-based sports talk radio show will NOT be heard in Chicago, but Rome will contribute "CBS Sports Minutes", heard locally on 670 The SCORE. That's the plan at the start anyway.

There was a story about 2 weeks or so ago by Larz at ChicagolandRadioandMedia.com about a rumored plan regarding Cumulus Media, a partner in the new CBS Sports Radio Network and owners of 89 WLS-AM & 94.7 WLS-FM locally, buying BOTH 97.9 The LOOP & I101 from Merlin Media. While it's unclear what Cumulus would do with WLUP, ChicagolandRadioandMedia.com reported that Cumulus bosses would convert the struggling WIQI into a full-time CBS Sports Radio Network outlet locally. However, Merlin Media bosses denied the CRM report and claim their Chicago stations are NOT for sale. Right now, classic rock continues on The LOOP while adult contemporary music continues on I101.

Also, CBS Radio Chicago bossman Rod Zimmerman has denied rumblings of a rumored format switch for struggling 104.3 K-Hits from classic hits to a rumored simulcast of sports talk via The SCORE. Zimmerman, who is also the V.P. & General Manager of all-news 780 WBBM-AM/105.9 WCFS-FM, also took issue with an online report suggesting CBS Radio bosses in New York might ultimately pull the plug on the classic hits station.

K-Hits hasn't exactly taken off in the ratings since replacing the jockless "JACK FM" earlier this year and Program Director Todd Cavanah recently denied reports that the dismissal of morning guys Eddie Volkman & Joe Bohannon at K-Hits had anything to do with such plans. As it stands now, K-Hits is jockless in morning drive, and it's unclear who will replace Eddie & Jobo at WJMK-FM.

Whether it's killings at an elementary school or Children being sexually assaulted, Beerstain is much more interested in those kinds of subjects than sports. I think he believes that sports are not really worthy of his attention. He resents having to speak about sports. Thats why he's so poor at his job. Better to have someone around that loves sports and enjoys talking about them.

Getting high ratings means bad at your job. See also Mully & Hanley.
