Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It is impossible, and unhealthy, to read every word posted on this web site. I now have to step away from my computer for a little while because I feel dizzy, disoriented and weak.

I have to digest this precious little bit of insanity, for if I post my immediate reaction I may be banned from this web site.

I am suddenly imagining the cheetah-like image of Mickey Charles Mantle racing around the outfield like a jaguar and catching literally every ball hit anywhere near him. Then he will slug mammoth home runs with the power of a mighty elephant or gorilla.

Then I imagine the turtle-like Frank Thomas plodding down the line, and then being unable to even find his glove because he was mostly a pseudo baseball playing designated hitter.

Does anybody ever even think of how historic Mickey Charles Mantle's numbers would have been if there had been a designated hitter in the 1960's? I definitely do. Thank God there was not, however, because there are few things more pathetic than an elderly ballplayer desperately hanging on by becoming a fake player whose entire participation in the game is stepping to the plate a few times each game.

As long as it wasnt Jeff Nelson pitching, Id be more than comfortable having Frank bat instead of Mantle if I had only 1of them to choose from.

Mantle was one of the best all around players to ever play the game.

Frank Thomas was among the best right handed hitters to ever play the game;

Or the fact that Mantle didnt have to face late inning specialists throwing 100. He played when managers left relievers in for 3 innings plus if they brought them in at all to relieve their rag armed starter after 130 pitches. I'll stand by my statement. Frank was as good as an offensive player as Mantle. I really dont think its that controversial a stance except everyone hears Mantles name invoked and starts chugging his cock.

I will be the first to admit that Frank Thomas would destroy Mickey Charles Mantle in a rap off battle, or whatever it is called. I have street credibility, and I am certainly down with the struggle, players, but I am not a rap expert, so I am unsure. Mickey Charles Mantle definitely threw down some wacko rhymes.

Do not, however, get me started on the inequality of their square dancing skills.

Badrogue said that some of Frank's numbers were better than Mantle's, and that they were comparable offensively. Nowhere did he say Frank was a better player than Mantle.
