I have a solid grasp on the average age of people here. Many were part of the sports card boom in the early 90's. Anyone still actively involved with sports cards? |

I used to go to the card convention every year at the Hyatt O'Hare in the early '80s. That's where I got my Ed Farmer autographed rookie card. |

I used to go hang out where the boys would get baseball cards. I can remember gross ripped up carpet and dirty glass casses. Do you guyshave any of the topps gum left? |

I was into cards & sports memorabilia in a big way in the late 80's & early 90's. I went to card shows a couple of times each Month. The Sun Times shows in Rosemont were always good. I've got probably 50 boxes full of cards, starting lineups, autographs, & sports stuff. I've got all of the Topps cards from when I was a kid, mostly 1968, '69 & '70. One of these days I need to get my star cards graded. |

Long story short .... was bored a few years back and decided to throw some money (thirty bucks maybe) at an eBay auction for random 80s unopened packs. Good news, got 2 Mark Grace rookies; bad news, I tried the gum. The gum being hard and difficult to chew might not have broken the top 5 reasons why that was a really, really bad choice. |

I bought 4 boxes of Topps NFL 2012 Cards at $65 a piece this fall and winter. so, yeah...still buying & collecting.  Some of my favorite Saturdays and Sundays this past year were sitting on the couch watching football and opening all 36 packs, sort, and put in plastic hard cases or sheets. One autograph or one relic cards per box....  This was a great year to buy. RG3, Luck, Tannehill, Wilson... I will typically buy a bunch of rookie cards every year. Derrick Rose, etc...some aren't so great (Rex Grossman), but that's the fun of it. I have about 9 albums, two storage bins worth of commons, and a couple of shoe boxes of "stars". |

It's something that probably keeps you connected to childhood and its many innocent pleasures. |

I still have a couple of contaners full of cards from mostly the mid 80s. I know they likely aren't worth the cardboard they are printed on now but I have been holding on to them anyway. When I finally move back into a house I will likely go through them and make a decision what to do with them. I have a number of full sets and some other odd balls like stacks of Griffey Jr's and stuff like that. |

I was huge into cards in the 80s and 90s. I have probably 50,000+ cards in my attic. I occasionally think about getting them out and doing something with them, but then I have no desire to pull em all down from the attic. |

I was at a pretty cool and reasonably priced memorabilia store a few weeks ago and they had some old packs of unopened cards. They also had some unopened packs of Garbage Pail Kids cards and it took everything in my power to not buy some. They had some issue 1 packs for like 5$ a piece. I was probably standing mere feet away from Adam Bomb. |

I did more than Sports Cards still do.I am out of Sports cards,no money to be made anymore unless you get extremely lucky. Baseball-lost money Football-lost money Hockey-big profit Non-Sports Magic-Decent profit Star Trek CCG-Big money Vampire TCG-Very big profit,still dabble Other smaller card games some loss,some gain. Overall made money. |
