Post subject:  Couples who dine but don't speak to each other

Since it's Valentine's Day I thought it oddly appropriate to raise a subject which I find to be somewhat disconcerting and all to common these days - couples (generally older) who dine together but rarely converse. Take a look around the next time you're out for a bite and note how many diners sit through an entire meal in near total silence. It's as if they have run out of things to say and are attempting to break the monotony by just leaving the house.

Message boards have made talking to your significant other obsolete.

If this was a Mini Ditka thread the OP woulda been either "I think they're annoying" or "What's your favorite one?"

Mini Ditka has to work for a marketing firm and gets paid to conduct a few informal impromptu focus groups every day.

Also, yeah uh they're annoying and stuff and when I see them on their phones I chuckle cuz the affairs have likely started already. Yay for formality!

Why do you care what other couples do or don't do?

I fucking CANT STAND when people concern themselves about what other people do. I mean IT REALLY REALLY DRIVES ME NUTS. Why do they care what other people do??? DAMN. Why can't they just mind their own business AND NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE/ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT.

Maybe he's thinking/worrying about his future

Ill admit, a lot of married couples are very sad and seem to be just tolerating each other.

Why are you concerning yourself with what other people are doing?

I wouldn't say you are. You just seem awfully concerned about what others are doing.

The nature comment concerns me. Women like men who partake in natural things.

And btw, anyone who says that they've been married for years and never had an arguement, had one awfuly shitty marriage.
