Obviously, Spotify wins on your desktop since you can listen to whole albums for free. The streaming radio is just as good and in my opinion the music seems higher quality. The catalog is much bigger and varied.

Thanks Pandora. You are the blackberry of streaming radio. Thanks for blazing the trail but your time is over.

I used Pandora every day. Spotify added streaming radio stations based on artists(basically all of Pandora is one feature of Spotify) with like 10 times the music catalog.

They still let you listen to any song you want on the desktop as much as you want for free.

Last.FM still does "similar artists" better than any other option.

Last FM is good stuff. Have it on my Xbox and such. Far better then Pandora for music.

We just agreed on something.

I'm not sure how to proceed with my day.

Proceed carefully.

Don't make any sudden movements.

I use slacker, you pay 4 bucks a month and you can cache stations to the device so its not using data and it works anywhere. Plus it uses almost no battery that way.

Pandora still works for me. I had to break down and ante up the $4 a month for Pandora One. No ads or pop ups, and you can skip all the songs you want. I tried Spotify a while back. There was something I didn't like about it. Can't remember what. :?

Pretty sure this is what was holding me back from giving it a try.

You can't stream from the website on Spotify. I use my phone for streaming pandora so it's not a problem. For you, it's a MASSIVE problem.

I love Spotify, but its radio feature needs a lot of work. It's not good if you enjoy classic rock either. Other than that, it's the goods. I upgraded to premium and I've used it to replace my Itunes/ipod...

Radio Paradise for me. A great mix, no ads, next to no talk, great accompanying visual slide show on the HD TV, songs often relate to one another -- sometimes humorously, and a very lively user forum.

Pandora must be on to me.

I just got an email saying that starting in March my free listening will be capped at 40 hours a month and that 4% of users may be effected.

Considering I've listened 40 hours in a week I'm pretty sure I qualified.

I like Pandora, but I can't imagine listening 40 hours per week. Their music gets really repetitive after while, and they don't seem to rotate songs very often for artists.

BR, I went the Spotify route based on this thread. I really liked the listening to records, but my trial quickly ended. Are you paying to have access to more than just the radio stations?

Update: I usually listen on my iPhone. I noticed that you get records for free on the desktop version. So there's a difference between the offerings? New user and just confused on best use of the product.

It's free to listen to full albums on your desktop. On a mobile device, you can only listen to radio stations just like Pandora.

Darn, I loved listening to Rocky soundtracks on the tread mill. I may have to use it on my laptop and plug in that way. Thanks for the info.

Depends what genre you listen to. If you listen to something very popular the playlist is far longer. But if you listen to something popular you could probably just turn on the radio.

And Rhapsody is better than all of them IMHO. $15 a month (about the cost of one CD) gets you about 20 million songs anywhere you want (desktop, iPhone, iPad, Sonos streaming, etc.) with amazing quality, decent search, and no ads.
