So I came across this article on bleacher report, "Has Johnny Manziel Had Too Good of an Offseason?" and noticed it states the folowing: Quote: Manziel's Cotton Bowl celebration continued the next night at a Dallas-area club, where he was captured by TMZ.com popping bottles of Dom Perignon. Since Manziel's parents were present at the club, the 20-year-old was allowed to drink under Texas law. Wow, I knew Texas was different but thought those kind of laws were all but extinct 30+ years ago.... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1535061-has-johnny-manziel-had-too-good-of-an-offseason |

You werent supposed to be able to drink, but ya know... A lot of that still exists |

I'm 28, so I frankly see no problem with it since majority of kids over 18 drink anyways. Just was shocked the legislation existed to allow such deeds...but I couldn't imagine being at a club with my parents at 20 years old, awkkk wardddd |

I haven't been there in 15 years, but TX used to allow passengers in vehicles to consume alcohol. Riding by Johnny Law while I was drinking a beer was weird, wild stuff. |

I mean like 12 and 13 year olds even. |

Rob Schneider mentions that in "Necessary Roughness" |

When I used to travel down south regularly maybe 12 years ago the beer was sold in one of those ice chests at the convenience store check out by the can. It was not against the law to drink a beer and drive. It was against the law to be a drunk asshole. |

The age to be allowed in bars in Champaign is 19. In Urbana, it is 18. You are still not allowed to drink, supposedly. |

Hawg Ass wrote: I know in Wisconsin it used to be the same way, not sure anymore though. Wisconsin law does say that persons under 21 can be sold alcohol and drink it if they are with their parents, guardians or spouses of legal drinking age, the state Department of Revenue website says. State law allows that at bars as well as restaurants with liquor licenses. And as Health First says, the Wisconsin law sets no age restriction. But it’s important to note that establishments can decline, on their own, to serve parent-accompanied minors. |
