Not too long ago I joined a work related message board , thought it might be interesting to get other peoples perspectives as far as my job goes. Was in for a shock when after a few days of reading / posting there as compared to here. Found myself arguing with most of the fucking idiot posters there about the various aspects of our job. Essentially it was "we are the workers, fuck the company. we are always correct, they are nothing but cruel and evil overlords and we are just humble souls trying to do our jobs and eek out a living under horrible oppression. I quickly became a pariah for while not exactly taking the companies side but more of hey dumbfucks, company puts certain policies in place because dipshits like you guys keep fucking up, breaking rules, etc. Was put on a "point" system by one of the board moderators for what they said was insulting other members of the board and after so many points, banning would occur. After some particularly pointed back and forth last night I awoke this morning and logged in to see this on my screen You have been banned for the following reason:
Insulted other member AGAIN, go read the rules again

Date the ban will be lifted: 03-07-2013, 02:00 AM
After I got done laughing and realizing I dont really fit in with their good old boy network of unity I realized how lucky we are to have this place. I know BF takes a lot of shit with complaints of arbitrary prunings and sometimes he will go the ban route of people but in my opinion his skin is pretty thick , especially compared to what I just went through over on the other site. I feel we get a pretty long leash on this forum , and insults fly , Pm's will be issued , but after having gone through this experience , things could be much, much worse. Now back to my regularly scheduled bad sports thoughts. Thanks.

Well said. While I sometimes question the decisions made by the Creator it's still run 100 times better than most message boards.

I was banned from the Penn State message board for explaining why it's a big deal that Joe Paterno let Sandusky hang around the program after he was no longer an active coach.

Me too. That place sucks. I was kicked out because some admin didn't like what I was discussing. I wasn't rude. I didn't insult anyone. In fact, they insulted me.

The guy I remember being a real douche had a HUGE graphic in all his posts promoting his BBQ restaurant down in North Carolina. He had all kinds of strong opinions about ticket pricing and the park and he didn't like it when I asked him how many games he attended.

I posted a topic- in the proper section- asking who your favorite beer vendor was. They didn't like that even though there are many, many dumber and less pertinent threads on that board. But I guess if you live in North Carolina you don't go often enough to have a favorite vendor.

I think I remember that. Very full of themselves.

That's why I never get into the operational managing of this place. So I get something deleted once in a while. This place is a comparative heaven to just about everything on the internet short of ogrish.

I got banned from a wrestling site for a year for jumping on people about Benoit and the brain injury thing. I felt some of them where ill informed and way out of line,like most of the noobs here.
Now I am very careful over there. I like most of the people but some of the basement dwellers are a little scary.
