I'm not looking for sympathy, but I feel like some of you are friends. Those of you who are inclined to pray, please keep me in your thoughts. When I fall I fall hard.

How do you think they got all that booze from town to town? On a wagon.

Good luck, Dallas

Dallas/A7X, you are in my prayers. Everybody falls down. Not everyone gets back up. Stay strong and please don't give up your fight, even if it means fighting for the rest of your life to stay clean.

A high school friend of mine just took a pilgrimage to anchorage for some similar isolated soul searching.

He sent me this yesterday:

Good luck Dallas. I lost someone near & dear to me at the young age of 44 to Alcohol abuse. Don't let it beat you. I wish you the best in getting back on the sobriety wagon.

Pretty sure everyone has experience with this, one way or another. Wish you renewed and continued strength. We all fall, just gotta keep going.

I think the whole X days straight of sobriety thing sets you up for feeling like a failure. It puts pressure on you and then makes it seem like an insurmountable task to sober up again. The overwhelming majority of people fall off the wagon. You're just one of majority. Start up again and don't even consider this little blip.

Think of it more like a vacation from sobriety. Tomorrow you get back to normal days and don't bother counting in the future.

I agree with this 100%. Everybody makes mistakes but the strength you show is in coming back and taking that control back.

Good luck, A7X.

It's very difficult to improve upon what Dolphin said. Here's hoping tomorrow is better than today, and so on and so on.
