What Vitamin's do you regularly take? Any recommendations? I take a Vitamin B and multi-vitiamin most days, still trying to get into that habit and not forgetting. Any positive/negative feedback from specific vitamin's? |

I buy vitaFusion multivitamins and then forget to take them most days of the week. I never feel any different whether I take them or not. |

I've wanted to buy those gummy bear vitamins but I'd be afraid I'll eat them like candy. |

most vitamins are snake oil and don't do anything... There is numerous studies that show the chemical compound isolated in a vitamin is not assimilated by your body like eating foods that contain all the micro nutrients as well as the target vitamin. The only vitamins that you should consider taking are Vitamin D3 (because a lot of people don't get enough sunlight working indoors) and fish oil. The rest are all bullshit... Here are a couple source article on vitamins being scams: Quote: "In the past few years, several high-quality studies have failed to show that extra vitamins, at least in pill form, help prevent chronic disease or prolong life." http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/17/healt ... html?_r=2& and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2096672.stm |

Probiotics (but you need to be careful when buying cheap brands or ones that are not refrigerated and have lofty bacteria amount claims (ie 20 billion)... Probiotics sold not refrigerated are mostly dead, these are living organisms that you need to buy from a vitamin shop from a fridge to be close to the claims of how much probiotcs are in the pill. Vitamin D3 - because most do not get enough sunshine to produce d3. |

Thing is my regimen is pretty carefully monitored. Had some real issues early last year and this regimen is working. Doctor thinks I will be able to lose a couple of these things - the DHEA, for instance. D3 - yes, level was alarmingly low last year and he had me taking 50,000 IU two times a week. Level is still low so I'm back to 50,000 for a month. The thought is I can probably lose the chromium picolinate and the CLA once I'm able to really exercise with regularity. Choline is great - a month on it and the mental clarity is amazing. Lecithin - hey, what can I say? Good stuff. |

I used to take St. John's Wort at my old job since it was rumored to help with depression (and my job was depressing as shit), and I believe it helped, although I'm pretty sure it was just placebo. Otherwise I take these babies once a day because I'm apparently an 8 year old. |

Fish oil is not a really a vitamin as its a whole food item extracted from fish and its health benefits are that it lowers cholesterol and helps with brain function. A Vitamin ie like a multivitamin is not natural and is a chemical compound created in a lab which doesnt act in our bodys like real food does and will not give you any health benefit outside of the placebo effect. |
