As much as a person can be affected by someone dying that you don't know at all aside from the books they wrote, movies they made, songs they did or sports they played, which one affected you the most? Mine makes no sense as he wasn't really a huge star or anything but when I heard that the bass player from the Cars, Benjamin Orr died it made me sad and still does when I hear one of their songs on the radio. I mean I like the band and all but I'm by no means a huge fan of theirs so I'm not sure why it does. He was reasonably young (53) , got eaten up with cancer for a couple years but the first I heard he was sick at all was after he died . Fire away boys.

Payne Stewart professional golfer, they were on a private plane to Texas when something internally went wrong with the plane. They basically froze in a matter of seconds, the news was all over it and we knew who it was pretty fast and they were trying to determine if they were going to have to shoot the plane out of the sky. They didn't and I believe it eventually landed in Montana somewhere. Was a favorite of mine coming up and died way to young.

Hasn't happened yet, but when Stevie Wonder dies I will literally cry.

So far, nobody has affected me that way yet...

Eddie Guerrero was the toughest for me. Ennis Cosby wasn't really a celebrity, but the way he died as such an intelligent, promising young man hurt too. Aaliyah, Tupac, and Brandon Lee were right up there for me too.

Don't recall too many but was sad when Clarence Clemmons (sax player for Springsteen) died suddenly as least as far as I knew.

So did he.

There had to be a part of him that was worried that he wasn't going to be resurrected right?

The official story is that he died and descended into hell.

So let me get this straight...the guy busts his ass only to be thrown in a holding pen with the the worst of the worst and on top of it, because its a Friday, he can't post bail until the weekend is up. Thanks dad! Thanks Obama!

george carlin was the only one that really was like a proper kidney punch of sorts... he was due to come out to chicago later in the year and me and my brother had just gotten tickets or were about to, as i had missed his shows over the years for various dumbass reasons. not this time....

plus, the way i found out was that i woke up and turned on the stern show (still decent on a free sirius subscription) and belzer was in and talking about george carlin and i'm like "why the fuck are they talking about george carlin?! NO!!!" and yeah. it was, in the days b4 i had the internet i had to sit there and listen for awhile before they recapped the news after a few stories. that was the most excruciating part, and the only time i've ever felt anyhting for a dead celebrity.

Freddie Mercury, without a doubt.

Not a celebrity in the traditional sense, but I was devastated when CART/Indy Car driver Greg Moore died in a crash at Fontana. He was my favorite driver and had such a promising future. Met him a few times in the paddock and he couldn't have been nicer. Walter Payton, Payne Stewart and GM all died within a few days of each other. That was such a weird time.

I stopped having a favorite driver after that.

Still have Peter Burke's awesome pit entry pic as my screen saver. Love the pic of him flipping off Jimmy Vasser as well.
