Post subject:  Cat Question

A couple months ago, a cat had a limp, didn't think anything of it, a week later it's leg had swelled up, so we took it to the vet. At first they thought it was cancer and if it was it would have to be put down. They did an x-ray, it wasn't, showed nothing, drained the leg, was a blood-fluid mix, and said to bring him back a couple days.

Well we did, He did surgery to put a drip in, he let the cat come home, for a week with the drip, leg still swelled, so he took the drip out, and the fluid stuff came out, well the leg is still swelled. Now when he walks, it like he can put anything on his leg, the other night he has started to lick it and possibly biting it and some of the stuff came out.

Has anybody of had this happen to their cat or know what to do, don't know if he could get to the vet to get his leg drained about once a week, still eats and drinks water, but pretty much lays in one spot all the time now, can jump a little.

Any info would be appreciated, well add our vet didn't know what to do.

Does the cat go outside? My ex wife had a cat that was outside a lot and would come home with
abcesses all the time that would get infected and need to be drained. That kind of sounds like what
is happening here but the infection must still be happening if it continues to swell up. Weird that the
vet doesn't know what it is.

It's an inside cat, before it happened it would fight with another cat that's in the house and they thought maybe it bit the cat once and gave it an infection, but they ruled that out.

Try a different vet or google the issue.

Good luck!

I tried to find a gif of the couple that's addicted to Coffee Enemas, but couldn't find one. That was definitely the most bizarre one I saw.

You might as well should have told him to join the Nintendo Fun Club, cpguy.

Given his vet is clueless, seems like good advice even if it's pretty obvious.

Update

Sadly the Cat died this morning, I just wonder if the fluid from his leg got into some other parts of his body.

Sorry to hear about the cat. If it was in pain maybe it was all for the best. You did the best you could by the cat
and that is all anyone could have asked.

Remove pics of a guy kissing his car, but continue to allow whiteandproud to start inane threads? Got it.

Wouldn't parody threads be considered "not significant" too? I remember you being very outspoken against those.

While I dont like them, just because I dont think they are funny, they got out of hand with way too many people starting them and would occupy a section.

dont need 18 threads started with different spellings of a word.

But I love explaining these things to people on a daily basis.
