My guess is rich boomers realizing that the end is nigh began doing either reckless or super expensive shit before they died. They needed a cute name for it and 'bucket list' was decided on. Now you have 20 year olds saying that going to Times Square is on their bucket list....

I have no problem with someone having goals. The thought of a 22yr old making a list of things they want to do before they die is stupid. Just fucking do what you want, dont tell me it is your bucket list. Odds are that you still have ~50 years to go.
