I've actually subscribed to Steve Dahl's podcast. I took him up on the offer to listen for free for a month, and I liked it. It's uncensored, and while I think Garry Meier is decent, I like it better. Maybe it's my official midlife crisis (which I thought I had at 20!) but I grew up on Dahl & Meier, and he includes old shows of them as part of the deal. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for this 43 year old burnout it still hits the spot.

Steve Dahl stopped being funny sometime during the George Bush Sr. administration. He started with the "I'm bigger than this" BS and it became a daily thing with his constant whining. He got his whole family involved with his show like they were the fucking Osmonds. Fuck him. Meir is funny but he's fighting a losing battle because of all the breaks he has to take.

Like I said jimmypasta, not everyone's cup of tea. I'll admit he went through some real shitty years on WCKG. But now that he's uncensored, he's really funny to me. Not my job to convince you. To each his own. At least we still have our shared love of Dragnet!

I cannot imagine paying for him as he stumbles to the end of his career. I'd rather buy his highlight CD and listen to that every once in a while. Dahl died to me when he took up golf.

Radio guys always seem to morph into what they once mocked. Nobody is more guilty of this than Howard Stern.

I did the free trial also but I only listened to a few shows here and there. It was good to throw on every once in a while but I couldn't bring myself to pay for it with a bunch of other podcasts available to fill my time.

If it was free, it would be part of my rotation to fill in time between my other weekly 'casts.

Although I wish they'd quit playing the music under the news at the beginning. The one episode I was listening to still had music playing under it (too loudly) about 35 minutes into the cast.

The way I've rationalized paying for it is to remember all the $100 bills I tossed to my dealer without a second thought for a bag of dope that was gone in 20 minutes. This is a c-note for a year.
