Quote:
Reptile experts are baffled by a python attack in an apartment in New Brunswick that left two young boys dead in New Brunswick, with autopsies scheduled for today that hope to shed light into the incident that has led to cautions about exotic pets.

Noah Barthe, 5, and Connor Barthe, 7, were killed by the large African rock python while visiting an apartment upstairs from Reptile Ocean in Campbellton on Monday morning, RCMP say. They were found dead Monday morning.

Steven Benteau, a spokesman for the Department of Natural Resources, told CBC News on Tuesday that African rock pythons are not permitted under the province's Exotic Wildlife Regulation.

A criminal investigation has been launched.

In the meantime, the shocking attack has baffled even snake experts.

"It’s strange, I’m just trying to piece it together,” says Lee Parker, the facilities manager at Ontario reptile zoo Reptilia. “They don't go on killing sprees … it doesn't make sense to me."

Why a criminal investigation? The police have the snake, are the crazy Canucks going to put the snake on trial.

There's a lot missing from that story .... I mean, I understand being so scared you can't move, but how does a snake run the ol' PacMan gimmick on kid A without kid B screaming, running away, something.

Unless somebody doped the kids to sleep or something, which then the storyline itself makes more self, but then of course the story makes much less sense, because, why kill kids (yes, even the ones screaming on a plane).

I'm glad to know that snakes don't go on killing sprees.

What a terrific thread!

If we just gave guns to all children, this would never be an issue.

It was improbable.

Predictable python killing sprees just aren't news.
