actually.... no. i can't speak for the whole metropolitan area, but up north of the city here (in the skokie/evanston corridor anyways) we didn't seem to get nailed like i thought we would. last night circa 8:30 i saw the regional radar and saw that roughly half the state of iowa was yellow, extending up north into wisconsin and south enough to hit joliet.... and i was like "oh shit" as today was setting up to not be a good day to be outside.
i woke up to get the paper early and the ground was bone dry. i check the radar and there's a spattering of green radar stuff just south of cook county.... which makes me wonder "whaaaa happen?" seeing as it looked rather inevitable that the state-sized ball of yellow was coming here.
chalk it up as another case of "god hates rockford", eh?
