finally have product finalized. well, 99.5% (there is a specific size of heatshrink tubing out there that i haven't found yet).

problem is im broke. all of my money has gone into parts and production. make or break time. i have 4 demo units right now, and will have a dozen finished products in about 2 weeks. time to make my money back. definitely sick of spending money and not watching it return! anyone else develop a product before, driving yourself insane for 3 months trying to get every last detail worked out right?

How about a pizza place where you make your own pie?

I'm working on a roll-out tie dispenser.

Can you imagine getting mustard on your tie at lunch before a big afternoon meeting?

bagles, if you are serious i would love another investor.

basically, without explaining the hell ive been through this summer to get this far- this is the best LED troublelight on the market. its designed for use in mechanic shops- those places where worklights go to die after 1 week.

i designed this because i couldnt understand why you can spend $150 on a troublelight that supposedly works without breaking... but it breaks. and before it breaks, its not convenient to use for many reasons (too big, not bright, stupid hook, etc)

here is the draft sales sheet- http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/10716786/file.html

i want to put these on amazon and get user reviews on it. i have a feeling, marketed right, i wont get a single bad review. and by marketed right i mean i just have to make sure buyers know these are hand made, so they might not come absolutely cosmetically perfect (although im getting damn good at building them). they will, however, work.. for years. without hassle. the money mechanics will save on bulbs alone will sell these lights, not to mention they outperform any other branded light out there.

still working on the website, i had issues with my host and im waiting to see if i get my money back or i have to stick with them for a year. until then, i cant even upload a basic "coming soon" page, but oh well.

It's a nice sheet. Is it worth putting a picture of the product on the sheet?

Post subject:  Re: spending money to make money

i want to do a silhouette of it in the background. right now there isnt room, and i have tried to take as many words out as i can but i cant go any leaner and still fully explain the product. its really intended to be an informational sheet included in the box when you buy the light. i have yet to do the owners manual... thats a few more nights of frustration (i probably have 8 hours in this sales sheet alone, i cant stop tweaking)

if anything, i will just make a foldout brochure with this info on it and a couple pics. as soon as my phone finished uploading ill get a good pic of it on here

You can cross Frank off of the list of potential investors.

theyre in there. not revealing the whole design to the world. you gotta buy one to reverse engineer it :D

which isn't hard either. its designed to be full serviceable. in the exotic circumstance where the light does break, it is possible to fix it. anything on the light can be fixed for a much lower cost then buying a new one, which is untrue of any other light i know of.

That looks like some kind of torture gizmo you ram up somebodys ass,but if it's got a light on the end of it...cool! 8)

Is it sturdy enough to knock a muthafucka out if I clock him upside the head with that end part?

Author:  IkeSouth [ Tue Oct 01, 2013 5:43 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: spending money to make money

its made with a galvanized steel core, reinforced with pvc endcaps and sheilded with bulletproof polycarbonate lens. yes, you can easily knock a mofo out with it.

the light comes out the side in the middle, the LEDPROS logo is just the eye shield, it only covers half the bulbs. it rotates 360 degrees as much as you want, which makes it very convenient to use. most lights rotate on the hook, which is fine but after awhile all it does is twist up the cord and make it a bitch to use.

everything on the light has been tried, tested and tested 40 more times. surprisingly the vent holes were the hardest part- if you dont do that right the light WILL overheat and fail after prolonged use. I suspect that is one reason no other manufacturer has used the 5630 diodes i am using...

Post subject:  Re: spending money to make money

these are the type of lights i am competing against. this one here is the only LED troublelight on mcmastercarr, which means if i can get my product in their catalog i will sell thousands.

Image
http://www.mcmaster.com/#led-trouble-lights/=or2zwu

notice a few things. 1) made of injection molded plastic. good luck on that lasting when a hood closes on it, or it gets dropped repeatedly. 2) the hook is terrible. its hard enough to dick with one hook, why the hell is there two on there? 3) shield rotates on hook, twisting the cable for premature wear and frustration when it gets wrapped around your legs and whatnot. 4) power supply is located near the light. WHY!? most all lights are like this. 120v death volts are running all the way up to your hands. accidentally cut the cord and if you dont get shocked to death you might just shoot enough sparks to ignite the gas tank youre working on. 5) surface mounted diodes provide a whopping 120deg at best viewing angle. better have that light pointed right. the LEDPROS light is over 180deg viewing angle, with 100% even coverage. all you have to do is keep it out of your eyes!

i could go on... again, i challenge anyone to find a better worklight. they dont exist until now. i am hoping to change the market. some day they will all follow my design

20% of the company for $250k :cheese:

nah i have no idea what type of deal would be worked out. to make 100 of these lights costs me nearly $4k, but i can easily triple that money if i do all the work myself- and i could do it in less then a month. but making a few hundred of these is one thing- i worry if i sell a few hundred and get the product on amazon, mcmastercarr, napa and the like things will take off... but i cant make thousands of these in my shop. im not to that point yet. who knows, maybe someday it says craftsman on the side :alien:

My advice: use a serifed font for your bullet points, san serifed for your headers. You can even use serif for the headers assuming it will only be distributed in print.
