Janet has a few thoughts:

Obviously from a biased perspective. I thought she did a reasonably good job of being somewhat fair. Overall, meh at the whole idea.

Good read. I think it's a shame that the Radio Hall of Fame is such bullshit. There should absolutely be one, but not on the sole terms of Bruce Dumont.

Have you ever been to the MBC? It's almost despair-inducing. Like she said, it's just old shit from the Bozo Show. The worst part is that when you walk in, one of the first exhibits is "Radios Through The Years" or something and it's basically just that some guy went up to Richmond and hit up some garage sales to pick up old radios. Seriously, guys?

That was a good read. I don't know if that partnership would've flamed out on its own as they both got older but man, I will always feel cheated out of a few more years of innovative funny radio . Shame they broke up when they did as I felt they were still at the top of their game. This is definitely my radio version of the 03 Cubs implosion. Hurts a bit to even think about what might have been and the way it went down. Makes me a sad rogue.

Some of the best laughs in my life came from listening to the both of them. They were a great team. I keep telling myself to listen to "Meirs" on 'GN but the constant breaking for news, weather, commercials is crazy and takes away from the show.

Together, they were a must listen. Apart? No thanks. After their split, Steve was ok at first but he started surrounding himself with people who kissed his ass and laughed at everything he said. I stopped listening to him around the early 2000s because of it. Joy Masada sucked. There was some news dude- Dave something. Terrible. I don't recall all of the sycophants but they all sucked and fed Steve's bloated ego. Wheel of meat? Are you kidding me? Beyond lame.

As for Garry? I never listened to him with Roe Conn and I'll tune in to his WGN show once in awhile. Pretty vanilla. He has a bit where people send him 4 or 5 songs to play and he has them on the air to introduce the songs. Then he only plays about 15 seconds of each. Really dumb. Especially on AM radio.

I was glad to meet Steve one time. I asked about eggs Danny Thomas style. Yikes.

Worthy of induction but both of them are way in my rear view mirror.

I was still in HS and faked being sick so I could stay home and listen to their last show. It is weird because now I cannot stand to listen to Steve (too many long pauses, too many stories from home) and I would give Meiers a 3 out of 5 stars as a listen. Back in the day though, I could listen to the Loop 24/7.

For me, they were never quite the same after the first run at the Loop. It's hard to believe it was only 18 months.

Great when together, Dahl was below average alone, the YES STEVE crew was a joke.

Meier was terrible!

What a great time growing up listening to them. I did like Garry with Roe too.

That Loop line-up was epic. Appointment radio. Sad that shit don't last, but that's how it goes. Awesome, awesome radio...

Best radio duo ever! I loved every minute of it. Too bad Meier married a women who would break them up. And then do it again, when he was on with Roe. She filled his head with notions. He was never a lead guy. Best sidekick ever though.

It was a pleasure growing up in an era that featured Steve and Gary, Brandmeier, Matthews, Stern and then later the golden age of the Score on my radio. I didn't really listen to much music as a kid as I was stuck on these shows pretty much from sun up to sun down.

Seacrest, were you in the industry at the time and did you have interactions with Steve and Garry?

I have never met either one of them. Turned down a "job" offer from ESPN.

I agree with Dallas about Meier. Best straight man ever.

Science says that the music you hear when you are 13-14 years old imprints on you as "good" music. I assume the same is said for talk radio. These two will always be the best for me, an impossibly high standard to surpass. I still have a couple of cassette tape of the "Best of", including most of the cover songs. Listening now, there are more Night in the Ruts than The Wall or London Callings...

I don't think London Calling is all that great. Title track, "The Card Cheat," "Train in Vain," all outstanding, but there's a lot there that I don't bother with.

It's a double so there's obviously some filler in there. It could have been an all-time record as a single disc. Still, it's easily their second best album.

This. What a great album. Couple of throw away songs.
