Dont be so hasty

Knowing Batman fans, someone will come in here and talk about how Christian Bale was more realistic

I just saw this on the news. It can't get much cooler than that! It's a shame they couldn't get a real Batmobile but whatever that car was,it was pretty cool looking.

He wouldn't appreciate the 60s Batmobile, and none from the movies really stand out (in my mind at least.)

One would think one or two hecklers would hassle the kid about being late for halloween...

Great story and I'm sure it was more than the kid dreamed for. That being said am I the only one that questions using that amount of resources on 1 kid?

No. He's 5. You could have done 10% of that and he'd have been as happy. It's nice for the parents and everybody involved or hearing about it.

That thought never crossed my mind but you know what? It's a great story and made a lot of people happy. It's nice to see something good in the News once in awhile.

People donate to that charity so they could do stuff like this. @ least they don't waste the donations like other charities do.

Good thing they didn't have this in Chicago, or the kid would've got something like this:

Apparently this cost SF over 100k.
Was it money well spent?

That's why I made that post on Friday. It was a great thing they did but I knew the city and other had to spend a lot of money to pull it off.

Maybe make a wish should have ponied up for this deal.
It was cute. Prolly good PR. But I guess it's silly that public resources were used for this.

Yes. So long as they fire 2.5 garbage men or something I don't see an issue.

It was great PR for Make-A-Wish. They probably got millions that day just because of it.

It's probably like the marathon, where they can make up a number of "economic impact" for all the people who drove in and parked and ate at Panera.

Yeah, that occured to me as well

And not to sound like a horrible person, but the kid is in remission. When I heard this story I assumed it was a kid with months to live.
