wow... post of the year!

oh about the furnace... just make sure to crack the heat exchanger before installation. they ship it in tact but it needs to be cracked open for it to work properly.

Arise is one of my favorite albums of all time. South American death metal and white center play are two of the greatest loves in my life.

Didn't you read the title - 'Furnace AC' - she needs to keep the furnace cooled so that it doesn't overheat and catch fire, obviously ..... don't you care about her safety? What about the children, won't someone think of the children?

Just don't buy a Magic Chef or a Nordyne. I'm not a big fan or Rheem, hard to work on.
I happen to like Carrier/Bryant myself. And Trane.
80%ers are still legal now, so you can save a bunch of upfront money by getting one of those.
Expect to pay more for a 90%+ naturally. They'll save you some money.
Oh, and don't bother getting a multi stage furnace. Just get a one stage. Multi stage seem to rust out exchangers quickly as they don't really get hot enough to keep condensate from the main exchanger.
Turns out that furnaces with low/med/hi actually end up using more gas, believe it or not.

Darky,

I've got a Magic Chief AC unit & a Trane Furnace, both of which are 21 years old, so I'll be in the market soon myself.
Do you do sales & installation?

I do installs. Don't work the sales side.
Hit me with a PM if you'd like a quote and I'll get you some friend pricing.
