Just don't buy a Magic Chef or a Nordyne. I'm not a big fan or Rheem, hard to work on. I happen to like Carrier/Bryant myself. And Trane. 80%ers are still legal now, so you can save a bunch of upfront money by getting one of those. Expect to pay more for a 90%+ naturally. They'll save you some money. Oh, and don't bother getting a multi stage furnace. Just get a one stage. Multi stage seem to rust out exchangers quickly as they don't really get hot enough to keep condensate from the main exchanger. Turns out that furnaces with low/med/hi actually end up using more gas, believe it or not. |
