I have a lot of road rage.

I was in the car with my seven year old. Somebody pulled out in front of me and I yelled "You've got to fucking be kidding me". I realized Junior was in the backseat. I looked up in the rearview mirror and he was just looking out the window. Whew.....got out of that one. He then asked "Papa, what does fucking mean?" I told him that was a very bad word and don't repeat it.

Yes! It absolutely drives me crazy. The get a long side of a semitruck and just sit there. Put your damn foot on the gas pedal and get out of the way.

Here's the thing... and I'm talking about actual trucks... semis and such...

If you're going to pass a semi with a trailer... DO IT! Don't think about it. Don't waffle. Just pass them quickly. If you're not, OK, just sit back. It's like playing linebacker. Either you blitz or play coverage. If you don't do either, you're stuck in no man's land and you get blasted. You have to make a decision and go with it. My wife struggles with this concept.

Reading this, what you say makes sense...but it just seems natural to me to call the right/driving lane the inside and the left/passing the outside lane...

Also, I guess you could look at it as the "inside" of your driving area/safe area...whereas the "outside" is closer to the opposing traffic...

...though we are talking about interstate highways, so you really aren't that close to oncoming traffic anyways...

Getting stuck alongside a semi when it's raining is brutal. The spray from their tires is so bad it's like a little feary is flying next to your car dumping never-emptying buckets of water on your windshield.

Some of the semi drivers are asshats as well. Especially the ones that will be driving together and see a car coming up the left lane and they will intentionally come into the left lane and take forever to pass the semi on the right thus holding everyone else up.
