Has anyone ever added a driver to their insurance and how much am I looking at paying extra.

I have Progressive, going to call tomorrow, but wonderd what kinda of extra it will cost and is there anything I need to say.

It's my girlfriend, she has never had an accident, no points on license, and last ticket was in 03.

The charge for a clean record shouldn't be much as long as she's not like 16 or something.

Are you adding her car, too?

If not, I would say you don't even need to add her as your insurance should cover her as a permitted driver on the policy should something actually occur.

Dude

If you are titling the vehicle to her, make her get her own damn insurance.

There's less liability on you then.

I did that in college. Gave my girlfriend a set of keys to the car (65 mustang) and had to have it covered. I think it was like 1
$150.00 per quarter extra. But well worth the piece of mind. Every flippin time I got in it, the car was near empty on gas though which didn't thrill me, but she was a Lake Forest girl who never pumped gas in her life at that point. Worth the extra gas it cost me, but the 2 clutches she burned up learning to drive stick were not amusing.

My question is this: has she had insurance placed previously and/or has she been a named insured previously without a break in coverage?

Bonus question: how is her credit?

(since I presume that nobody keeps track of what, if anything, I do to make my few sheckles - why the hell would you? - it might be important to note that I've worked in insurance for the vast majority of the past 12 years - not sales, just product knowledge, particularly P/C)

This sounds like a very bad idea.

I wish I was home more often to watch that. Tons of cases have some weird and juicy detail that he will just make funny comments about, but that detail really has nothing to do with the case at all.

It sounds like the g/f should be running since she has no car, and no insurance.
