Do any of you guys around here suffer from it?

How can you really tell if someone has this or is just using that as an excuse?

Brother-n-law (the asshat who thinks he can make a living selling baseball cards from his basement) says he now has this. As far as I know the dude has never been to an actual doctor for anything in the 10 years I have known him. Just seems like an easy go to "problem" so as to keep up the lies in his life.

Buddy of mine is married to a lady that says she has this. He confided in me the other day that he thinks she is faking it. They could really use her working to help make ends meet, but she says she cannot work because of this problem and he just does not understand the pain she is in.

While I am sure there are many who legitimately have this condition, it seems there are some taking advantage of a problem that seems really hard to diagnose and see evidence of.

first of all, dont hate him because hes trying to be an entrepreneur. a lot of guys dont even try

make him go to a doctor for an official diagnosis. doctors are actually pretty good at diagnosis, but if the treatments they give him dont work i wouldnt doubt that. doctors treat symptoms as long as they can, and it never lasts.

the dude with the wife needs to kick the bitch to the curb. what good is she. right now she cant work and tomorrow she cant cook. its just few years away from being a fat blob on the couch that produces greenhouse gasses with no return on investment.

Sister claims/claimed she had/has it.

Friends of mine who are Doctors have said there is no physical proof of the "Disease' and is a great Pharmy disease.

Even if you look at Mayo clinc who says "They believe it is......"

Off the record, a doctor friend says to me. You never see a hot chick in great shape with this "disease" that makes her tired and always fatigued with weight gain always whining "Everything hurts and I have no energy to work out...can you get me a gatorade and some chips"

Go to the Dr. there are inventories and whatnot that they can do to make the official diagnosis. Does she suffer from MDD symptoms? It could be depression related or somatic. It's tricky and no Dr's I know like to treat it or even see fibro patients and some Dr's think it's a bullshit wastebasket disease state.

Or she could be faking it.

Anyone can "Officially Diagnosis" it, but that doesnt make it real.

I am sure there are some people that have a chronic situation where the ends of their nerves are so sensitive that every does hurt when anyone touches them and those people are in hospitals, not in basements selling baseball cards

i dunno i did know a guy who made tens of thousands just buying and selling baseball cards... but i would think if youre serious about it as a day job you would have your shop somewhere above ground.

Actually no, not "anyone" can officially diagnosis it, that takes an actual MD to do. Fibro has been batted around for 30 years or so, it isn't something that just popped up.

America holds 5% of the world population, and we consume 80% of the pharmaceuticals made on the planet. obama isnt secretly trying to control our minds, he is blatantly trying to.

to me it seems like something that would be real. some people have very little or no feeling in their nerves, so it would only make sense that some people have way too much.

My Mother-in-Law has fibro- she suffered for years before they diagnosed it. She lived close enough to spend a ton of time at the Mayo Clinic, so I trust the validity of the diagnosis. She also fought a severe bout of manic/depression episodes around the same time. Scary times for us- she would drive here from Minnesota unannounced to see the kids, then continue not to sleep for like four days straight. When she did crash, she'd be out for a couple of hours then drive back. Did some really stupid stuff during that time, +/- 100 pound weight swing, maxed out credit cards buying each of us 10-20 presents one Christmas. Fun when up, non-stop crying for weeks at a time when down.

She has exercised her way out of it for the most part, with some chemical help. Having to take care of the FIL and his Parkinson's daily has actually been a blessing

Yeah I agree as well. Mostly bullshit.

My Brother-n-Law has no issues if he has tickets to a sporting event, then he is completely fine. But if he needs to help out with his kid or actually have some responsibility then he suddenly cannot get out of bed.

From my four seconds of internet research, it appears that fibromyalgia primarily affects women. See if your B'n'L might be interested in an case of ankylosing spondylitis with a non24 chaser.

You know the medicine they used to prescribe for the jimmy leg had compulsive gambling as a potential side effect?

on netflix is an addiction documentary. outlines how all the top politicians have been paid off by big pharma for decades now. also how harvard professors were paid lots of money to teach treating symptoms with pills as opposed to all of the other medicine we have learned throughout our history.

obama was the top beneficiary in 2010, over 1.5 million dollars in one year alone to be a big pharma lap dog. hillary clinton made half a million bucks that year too. george w was no saint either (he destroyed millions of eldery lives by forcing prescription drugs down their throats through massive medicare prescription expansion, through doctors that were paid off by big pharma through a monetized social experiment that worked way better then anyone could imagine)

fact is, WE ARE FUCKED. 5% of the worlds population, and we consume 80% of the pharmaceutical narcotics. this isnt an accident, the pharmaceutical corporations have been meticulously changing our entire healthcare system TO BENEFIT THEIR BOTTOM LINE, and THAT is the real reason we are almost dead last in health among developed countries, and why you cant even go to your doctor to get a straight answer. doctors actually get monthly checks to hold virtual meetings with colleges, just to discuss what pills can be used for what symptoms! its called off-label prescriptions, and its very illegal yet nobody gets thrown in jail so they just pay the fines and repeat the practice!

consumers will be the only thing that can change all of this. we really need to adopt eastern medicine- at least recognize that for virtually any ailment there is a plant or natural solution. feel some pain? its ok, its called being alive.

There's no big fibro industry. The disease state simply isn't pervasive, there are two whole drugs whose specific indications are for fibro and they are very small revenue/sales-wise.
