also, we pretty much have no choice with these things; they're coming. remember when there was a time where you didn't wanna whip out your iphone on the cta cuz you were an easy target? yeah how's that going now?

same thing with the google glasses.... give it ~3-5 years and soon enough you'll look like an asshole/creep if you're not wearing them all over the place, much like now if you're the one person not buried into their cellphone on the train people glance at you like "ew why is that creep looking around at everything?"

I don't think so, sini. People who walk around with Bluetooth headsets jabbering into the air look like tools. A fully realized Google Glass or something like it would be a million times worse. I think as a society we can go only so far into being anti-social before there is a major backlash.

My technology sensibilities are basically preserved in the amber of 2006. I love my 16" desktop-replacement laptop, Vista, Soulseek, my Motorola Razr, and books made of paper. Google Glass is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of in my life.

That Google fiber thing is really going to fuck them up and when the Google glasses are renamed as G's and you dont see the bump on them, you will see everyone wearing a version of it when shopping. Maybe it wont be the slick version in the movie AI, but it will be the 300 pound mom in the house coat at WALMART who then has the same shopping habits at the glasses show he where everything is that she buys when she looks in the general direction. yep. i dont think we will see it fully integrated with society until at least 20 more years... but it will happen. honestly though, i wont be looking forward to the 10 minute sales...
