Just funny to me. It's a funeral procession in Ghana. They're using a (presumably) empty R-22 cylinder for a drum.

Coolant tank for a drum?? Awesome. Reminds me of the home improvement episode where there was a construction worker band using only tools or work related items as instruments.

May i guess that R -22 is phased out or going to be phased out, due to too high of a level of contaminates?

Wouldnt be the first or last item in the US that is ilegal and being used in 3rd world countries.

Yeah, it's phased out but because of chlorine not contaminates. It's getting really expensive too. Thankfully, I've got 30 lbs!

This lawn supervisor was out on a sprinkler maintenance job and he started working on a Findlay sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7″ gangly wrench. Just then, this little apprentice leaned over and said, “You can’t work on a Findlay sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7″ wrench.” Well this infuriated the supervisor, so he went and got Volume 14 of the Kinsley manual, and he reads to him and says, “The Langstrom 7″ wrench can be used with the Findlay sprocket.” Just then, the little apprentice leaned over and said, “It says sprocket not socket!”

So, is it live, or dead?

The urban legend at our plant is the electrician who opened a 600VAC breaker cubicle for troubleshooting, upon seeing a similar rodent corpse reaches in to grab it, his partner says "Hey, that's live" and he responds,"No it's dead alright".

I love the AC unit buried, because while dumb to do, you know the homeowner asked them to do it so you cant see it.

Darko,

I have a Trane XL90 Furnace from 1992. I clean it every year, replace the filters about once a Month. Still works fine, but I know that I am pushing the limit with this unit being 22 years old. What do you recommend as a replacement unit & what do you estimate that I will save per Month with a new higher efficiency unit? Is it worth investing in a 95% efficiency unit?

Thanks

I am a fan of carriers newest line.
I don't think you'll see any appreciable difference in fuel usage unless your existing unit is oversized and you can downsize. You might squeeze a few bucks electric savings with a variable blower and two stage 16 seer ac but the startup costs are high and these variable motors don't seem to have the longevity of standard psc motors and the replacement costs are high. Therefore I tend not to recommend multi stage equipment or variable drives.
Standard 90 percent furnace is where it's at.

Steve Martin wants his joke back

glad someone caught it

ive always hated that joke. it doesnt make sense in any sense

this is a good use of that joke though

Quote:
When I was starting out I learned pretty quick to dread it when I went on a housecall and the client was a certain kind of nerdy white guy about 10 years older then me cause sooner or later he'd look at my big toolbox and ask if I had a Langstrom 7-inch gangly wrench. Oh yuk yuk. I'm a white guy to BTW. Then theyd talk about Steve Martin and wild and crazy guy and all that stuff telling me stuff I heard a bunch a times before. I guess it was better then jokes about but cracks and where I keep my pencil, but it got old real quick. I finally got so sick of it I invented my own gangly wrench. I took a broken stem puller and welded an old drain key to it and a piece of chain from a busted pipe cutter just to make it look nasty and I scribed a big 7 on it. I put it in my toolbox and when theyd finally ask I just dug around and pulled it out and showed em without smiling. While they stared and tried to think of something to say I usually said something like "but its really for sprinkler jobs, no need for it here" Once I even tested a guy by saying it was getting hard to find the right sprockets (instead of sockets) for it, but he didn't catch. Fun to turn there joke around on em, thats for sure.

Only since early 2012. School and work at the same time. Got an apprenticeship about 4 months into my school.
