In honor of the World Cup finally ending, what is the closest you ever came to having a crime committed against you?

I was driving home late at night and a car behind me with a few guys in it kept on making the exact same turns as me without passing me no matter how fast or slow I was going. They finally gave up after I made my third straight right hand turn and made it pretty clear I was driving in a circle. A drive to the police station was next for me while getting on my cell phone. Luckily, they moved on.

Maybe we can get Jesse Jackson Jr. to do it, he might have some extra coin now.

March 8th 2002. Most of it is classified. Even giving the date might be too much...

#1 Car stolen back in the '80's-my 'vette was only 6 months old-(it was a chevette)
#2 Our apartment broken into 3 separate times-I was just a kid back then.
#3 Just missed getting shot in High School- Yes,even in the '70's,there were creeps bringing guns to school. A young girl was shot and died right in the doorway of my next class. If I was there 15 seconds sooner,I would have been exactly behind her in the hallway.
#4 I also had a gun pointed at me as a little boy. I was trick or treating as a "mugger". My friends & I went up the steps to one house where a group of punk teens (greasers back then) were waiting. One asked me who I was with a ski mask on. I said mugger,he responded with "I'll show you a mugger" & pointed a gun at me. I'm not sure if it was a toy gun but I doubt it.

I got my first car stolen outside of my sisters house at 16.

Me and 3 of my teammates got robbed after leaving a corner store after football practice. I was so hungry I snatched my chips and the guy put the gun on me. Top 5 dumbest things I ever did.

My house was burglarized in 2007.

My car was broken into a month ago.

Had my garage broken into back in my days of living in Ravenswood. My next door neighbor was a cop (I have always lived next to a cop) walked into it with gun drawn when he saw the door broken into as he was coming home from his night shift

We lived downstairs from a cop who also chased away a burglar 1 time or that would have made 4 break ins. That cop was later killed in the line of duty.

In Amsterdam late at night. I was still enjoying the town and ran out of cash. I went to the ATM. A group of gypsies were hanging out by it and I kind of figured something was up. They tried to bounce me around so I wouldn't know who the pickpocket was in the group. I put a stop to it early with some threatening force. Even though the had me outnumbered, they don't want to commit violent crimes as the public is already against them and it is generally understood that the police are free to use maximum force against them. We kind of just stared at each other then they walked away.

Been held up at gunpoint twice. Once working in a mini mart (duh) right out of high school, the second delivering pizzas as a second job. Had just bought my first new car and was worried about making the payment so I took a second job delivering pizzas to help. Nothing like having a gun in your face and giving up your money only to have the one of the 3 dudes say, "Lets shoot this motherfucker anyway." Lovely. Anyways these 3 dumbfucks thought it would be a good idea to keep doing it so the cops set up a phony driver thing and ended up catching all 3 . Got to id one of them in a lineup. Justice served, extra pepperoni.
