"Action Comics #1 (June 1938) Superman's Debut, CGC 9.0 - Perfect White Pages"
(only one other copy has ever been graded this highly ... that one sold for $2.1 million, but apparently did not have white page borders like this one does)

Currently 21 bids @ $1,750,200.00 ... must be Leery in the lead.

I believe 1% goes to a Christopher Reeve related foundation ... make of that what you will.

Among collectors, there's a consensus that this comic started the Golden Age of comic books. That same issue had a Guide value of just $300 in 1970 in top condition.

However, that's not to imply that its rise isn't a rarity. First issues of early titles like Famous Funnies and Tip Top Comics have had only very modest gains by comparison.
