So people are shitty for supporting someone before the results of a investigation are finished?

Yes. I'm sure that's the sentiment driving those donations...

So it's bad to support someone who you think is innocent before proven guilty?

Not sure I'd assume they care if he's "innocent."

That's more of a an unrecognized circumstance of those already willing to assume that he is not.

If he isn't innocent until proven guilty, then you and I are not as well.

No. I question the sentiment driving those donations.

So people who donate are doing so for bad motives?

Same principle applies.

If others are guilty of bad motives until proven innocent with good motives, it effects all of us.

Like I said, my opinion is that his guilt or innocence doesn't matter to many of the donors, nor will it matter if there's ever an official finding or verdict.

If having an opinion of the guilt of motives of others makes me guilty of not assuming the innocence of those with possible guilty motives than I guess I'm guilty of being guilty which, as a double negative, makes me innocent.

Presumed innocence is a legal concept, not a public opinion concept.

I don't understand why it's so necessary for people to post their judgements here.

What is the point?

Seacrest must not have Twitter where this news is several days old, and where those stories show the comments sections of the donation sites.

How much did you donate?

Well of course it's not necessary. None of what we do here is necessary, but we still post.

Why would anyone think he's innocent? Even if all the stuff the cops say is true, he still shot an unarmed guy without any real need to do so.

To me this is just another version of Do The Right Thing. By and large, white people thought burning down Sal's was a worse crime than murdering Radio Raheem. In this case, white people seem to think a killer cop's feelings and inconvenience trump a black man's life.

I made a post about this before finding this thread, but my opinion, is the donations (over $300,000 already) are to aid the officer and his family, as they are likely to face legal costs should an indictment be brought to placate the looting vandals in Ferguson, Missouri. Did I donate-hell yes!

Now Steve. You have to know that it a shock to nobody on this board that you have donated, but do you care to explain why? He hasn't been charged with anything. He most likely won't be charged with anything. He has not missed one paycheck, and I'm going to assume he's not gonna lose his job if no wrongdoing is found.

So really what you are saying is that this man deserves (at this time) north of 300,000 for killing somebody.

Do I have that right?
