Informal poll... doing some research for work related thingy. So where do you set your stat in winter and in summer? Do you use set backs when you're not home? (do you let it get cooler at night or during work hours and warm up when you're awake or home from work?) Thanks. I appreciate your feedback. |

Steep, but it averages out. I just do more awkward public appearances in the summer to make it up. I hate being hot. |

Upgrade to the newest 18 SEER AC (two stage of course) and we're talking SAVINGS! (after a very hefty initial investment that probably has an ROI longer than the life of the equipment) |

62 MAX in the winter. holy fucking christ do people like sweating in their sleep? its usually set to 58 i just bump it to 60 or 62 when i feel cold summer is set to 0. because why the fuck would i turn on the ac when im outside but really, 71 in the winter? my mom has her set at that. i tell you what though, in my old house- hell yes. i could set it at 75 and it would still be cold as shit with all the drafts. newer construction though, just wear pants and a sweatshirt and 62 feels great. cook dinner and youre really feeling toasty. no i dont live in a mansion like all yall fucks |

Winter: 68 during the day, 64 at night Summer: 75 during the day, 72 at night. We like it cool-ish at night. However, we have a picture window that faces the west, gets good sun so that in the winter the 68 that the thermostat is set at will regularly hit 70 or 72 when it's sunny. |

I used to love 62-65 in the winter, but then we had kids and well, kids have needs. Babies don't usually like chilly air |

WINTER: When Mrs. Scorehead is home, 70. When she is not, 66. When we are both gone, 60. SUMMER: When Mrs. Scorehead is home, 76. When she is not, 72. When we are both gone, 80. I have a set back thermostat, but I don't program it anymore. Don't ever mess with your vents. Leave all off them wide open. HVAC is all about air flow, amirite Darkside? Except for the basement. I have all vents in the basement closed year round with the possible exception of July & August, & the temperature only fluctuates a few degrees. |
