This thread probably will suck, but I'm tired of everyone being negative about the Bears and mistreating them. Take all of your favorite teams, both pro and college. You are given the chance for one team to be a lock for the championship next year, but none of the other teams you root for will win a title for the next 25 years. Otherwise, you basically roll the dice that they will win at the normal expected rate. Do you take the deal, and if so, which team is it? I take the deal without a second thought and I choose Purdue basketball. Second place would be Purdue football but I don't think the devil is THAT powerful. This is primarily because I am thoroughly convinced I could live to be 150 years old and neither will do so. |

See my moniker, because I started rooting for them after their last title, and it's been nothing but awful ever since. I just can't fathom them being in Superb Owl, let alone winning it. I've seen my Cardinals win a plenty, so I'd be okay there. |

Wow. This is literally terrible. |

No. The Bulls and Cubs should win without that deal. I would make that deal for the Bears. I would be okay with them missing the playoffs for the next 25 years. It's the same reason why I won't get down on my Sox. |

If I were to take the deal, it would be based on the biggest long shot to win. I would then put so much money on them that I would be a millionaire many times over after it was over. It would make the rest of my teams continuing to be bad worth it. That team would have to be Illini Football. No one would expect them to win the NC. Odds have to be astronomical. |

What about a deal with the devil to win the CSFMB March Madness? |

No, I'm reasonably confident that the Cubs and Hawks will win a title in the next 25 years. I enjoy being angry at the Bears. Don't care about the Bulls. Although a Miami Redhawk national championshp in football is mighty tempting. |

No I wouldn't do that deal. The Packers will win another title anyway soon, and the Bulls probably will. Can't say Im a huge Hawks fan but they are due for another one and the Sox already got one in my lifetime so I'm good there too. |

I don't make any deals for one of my "teams". I was almost 20 before I saw any of my teams win anything other than a division title. Since then, a World Series title, another SB win, 6 rings for the Bulls. I don't have any great pull for any college team (which perhaps explains my larger interest in college sports) My level of fanaticism has largely dropped. Although, it dawned on me that I might make a deal to see the Cubbies never win a damn thing. The Devil would probably appreciate that and cut me a sweet deal. |

As tempting as it seems to go for the Cubs and be part of it. I would be forced to not see hope of the Redskins or even worse Blackhawks. I would though do the Illini thing to make myself F.U. rich. |

Bulls - their run was so tremendous to live through, even another championship wouldn't really register on that scale. I'd be happy with it but I'd make no deals for one. Bears - I think they could win another. But, in a similar way, that Super Bowl was pretty legendary that, unless they put a run together, not deal worthy. Illini - I'd consider it for the BB team. I've never thought the FB team was at that level so my expectations have not been dashed over the years in any way. Cubs - yep. I'd do it for the Cubs. They need to win a WS before I croak. I used to think it was kind of a joke, like, "Oh, maybe they won't win one in my lifetime either ". Now, I kind of worry "maybe they won't win one in my lifetime either". I've spent too many days in the bleachers, in front of the TV, or listening to the radio to not have it pay off eventually. |

Well, in Chicago they say - that good dolphin's small heart grew three sizes that day. And then - the true meaning of the plan came through, and good dolphin found the strength of *ten* dolphins, plus two!

life goes on after the team wins the championship. and then after 30 years and it hasn't happened again, you're the 72 dolphins always toasting that champagne, reminiscing like kevin arnold. that's it. you go from being the lovable loser to the insufferable prick. you don't need to make a deal with an imaginary deity to prove a point. just look at red sox fans. |
