There may have been a thread on this but couldn't get it to come up in the search.
Anyway, anyone using this? They are currently trying to steal my business from
Time Warner Cable and will likely get it if their pricing holds up. I am getting
raked over the coals with extreme malice by Time Warner. I called them last
week to ask them to cut me a break on my bill. They trimmed it by $10 a month
when it has gone up by $30 a month the last quarter.

My bill shouldn't be what it currently is for cable, DVR, internet, HBO, Cinemax
and Showtime. Maybe I am just out of touch what these services cost these days.

IMO, Uverse is the best. I pay $105/month for cable, DVR, and internet. Premium channels at $10/month each, I think.

I love the DVR for Uverse. Service is seamless. Get BTN AND all the alternate channels so I can watch every Big Ten game that is on (comes in handy as a Illini fan). NFL network and NBCSC also included at no extra costs. The internet does the job for basic internet usage.

I have UVerse and have no issues. You can record a lot of simultaneous programming, up to 3 HDs shows at once and hold like 100+ hours.

Have had it for 5 years or so and haven't even thought about switching. No need.

Very happy with Uverse. Have been with them since Jan 2013. Have only lost service for more than a few minutes twice during two pretty brutal storms. Second the DVR being awesome.

They also have sent me ~$50 in 'rewards cards' as a thank you for being their customer. Its almost like clock work that every 6 months or so a $10 Visa or a $5 Starbucks gift card just shows up in the mail. I don't know if they do that for everybody or not, but I'm certainly not going to complain.

Alright this pretty much puts the nail in the coffin of Time Warner Cable. I just need to give them a call and
get this switched over before 2015. I need to get a quote from them before pulling the trigger but this
sounds great. I could save $50 a month on this. Thanks all.

Love Uverse as well. They even recently (from my personal experience) got better with dropping prices when you call to complain.

Never have a service issue.

my only complaints are on larger screen tv's the signal can be pixelated at times. Having to type in 4 digits to the remote to get to any HD channel is annoying.

All HD channels are 4 digits with Time Warner so no change there. Do you get all the same channels in non-HD as well
as HD? One thing I like with Time Warner is that since I live in WI I get the Packer games when they play at the same
time as the Bears but can get the Chicago feed in non HD and watch that way. I assume it would be the same with
AT&T.

You get the same channels. HD channels are +1000

This is pretty much our opinion at our house. WAY better than DirecTv, which we had before.

Yep, Uverse was awesome when we had ( I don't give a shit if Comcast has faster internet speeds) it but lost it when we moved. Looking forward to getting back soon.Comcast is just so god awful and I cant stand dealing with them.

Just fired Comcast and replaced 'em with Uverse. So far, so good.

We have U-Verse and like it. Hardly ever have any outages. We have one old box that keeps resetting to SD mode every other month or so, but it is easy to switch it back to 1080.

Mine just started doing that a couple months ago, also.

I thought one of the kids was changing it. Guess they didn't need to get yelled at for that one. Ahh, it will build their character.

Noticed that too. Last time I realized it was after the box's software updated. I think that may be why, but I'm not positive.

We have Uverse for internet and home phone, no TV in our area yet. Seems we are "on the fringe" of the service area our internet speed ranges from 11 mbps down, still better than the 2.4 we were getting from DSL.

Was looking at an antenna-TV version of the DVR today, a possibility for the family, but I already think we watch too much TV...

Service is fine, I don't like their menus as much as direct tv.

Made the switch this afternoon and will install first weekend in December. Saving myself approximately
$70 a month and as far as I can tell am getting the same channels and even a few more. Almost too good
to be true. I guess I'll find out.

I was an early adopter of Uverse. Got it when it first became available in August 2007.
Still have it and have had only ONE weather unrelated outage, which lasted only 24 hours.
When I first moved to Kenosha in 2006, I had Time Warner, and I think I swapped modems out
at least 5 times in the 15 months I had it. I can't recommend UVerse enough.
Time Warner and Comcast can both piss up a rope and chew on the wet end.
(Never used one of the Dish companies).

U verse ain't bad. The mobile app is pretty fly. I've used it to set recordings when I'm not home and hear about something I wanted to record.

Was also thinking about switching, mostly to stop the daily junk mail I get from AT&T imploring me to do so. Anyone used their wireless HD receivers and had any issues?

Have two wireless receivers and they are fine. One wired remote one as well, and they both have similar delays for DVR replaying of maybe 2 seconds or so to start. Other than the initial setup (which is pretty simple; if you can hook up a TV, you can hook up the wireless) there's really not been any difference between the wireless and the regular HD receivers.

Thanks, I'm all in. I also read that they have already rolled out their fiber-optic network in Chicago, Des Plaines, Glenview, Lombard, Mount Prospect, Naperville, Park Ridge, Skokie, and Wheaton. I basically live in between Lombard and Wheaton and I assume they'll have it here soon. I have to believe it's great.

Got this installed on Saturday and so far I have been quite pleased. I got the HBO GO hooked up and
will be going back to watch OZ, Deadwood and The Wire over the next few months. Only bad thing was
that for some reason I don't have AMC so I didn't get The Walking Dead last night. I am waiting on
hold to talk to Customer Service about this and hopefully will be a quick fix.

Walking Dead is on a break till February, so it wasn't on last night.

Hmmm, well that is a good point. I still don't show the channel as being on my guide. I'll look again tonight.

Where on the AT&T site do you find the packages they have available for Uverse TV and internet? I kept going in circles on their site and couldn't find it.

Thanks, T-Bone. Apparently U-verse TV is not available in Schaumburg.
