It's easy to make good points when you don't have to worry about things like reality.

I saw you wrote that. I was only aware of him wanting people to have a choice (which is understandable, imo)

But he actually said vaccines cause mental problems, huh?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it

"I understand you're all for the choice," CNBC’s Kelly Evans said Feb. 2. "But again, if we're left in a situation where diseases that were once almost wiped out are now coming back because people are deciding not to vaccinate their kids, isn't that a problem?"

Paul replied:

I think public awareness of how good vaccines are for kids, and how they are good for public health, is a great idea. ... Do I ultimately think it is a good idea? Yeah. And so I had my (children's vaccines) staggered over several months. I have heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines. I'm not arguing vaccines are a bad idea. I think they are a good thing, but I think the parent should have some input. The state doesn't own your children. Parents own the children. And it is an issue of freedom and public health.

Paul, who was photographed the next day getting a booster shot for a vaccine, later clarified that he "did not say vaccines caused disorders, just that they were temporally related — I did not allege causation."

Whether you believe Paul directly links vaccines to mental disorders or stops short of such a connection depends on how you read his remarks. At best, he’s simply acknowledging the concerns some parents have actually expressed, even though they are not based on evidence. At worst, he’s repeating misinformation about a nonexistent link between vaccines and autism. Because you could read the statement both ways, we won’t be putting his statement to the Truth-O-Meter.

Not sure of that but he is a doctor so according to Bernsie you must listen to him. That is a weird turn of events.

Not sure of what?

Why is it that when somebody presents proof of something, you still don't believe it?

And don't forget his thoughts in 2010 on the Civil Rights Act...
Paul said that while he agreed with most parts of the Civil Rights Act, he was opposed to Title II, the section that made it a crime for private businesses to discriminate against customers on the basis of race. Paul said that he would have tried to change the bill if he was in office at the time.(He was two years old when the landmark legislation passed.)

Rand doesn't understand the 1st Amendment.

Rand Paul wrote:

Except for the part where it does.

That was one of the big ones. Not sure why this early some are so hard against him. Must be a threat to status quo. Likley he does not win but maybe he gets it into the convo.

exactly. especially because his dad was a 'loser'. tainted name

he does want to legalize weed though. if all he does is make it a campaign issue i will love him for that. he isnt a good presidential choice though. but honestly, he would be a lot better than what weve had for decades....

If politicians in general do what Paul did here I think we are all better off. I cannot see how it can be done but politics need to get away from this media driven 24 hour gotcha culture. Either way regardless of what you thin about what he said he did this well.

I give Rand Paul a lot of credit. He's built himself a strong cult following which appears to be very grass roots.

I could find plenty of things about him I don't like, but he appears to be the lesser of all evils. At this stage he gets my vote, but I do not believe for a second he has any chance of winning 2016 and will likely help whoever wins the Democratic nomination.
