We are planning a trip. We went about 14 years ago and have some ideas of what we want to do but if anybody has tour recommendations or things to do it'd be awesome. |

Way overpriced. For the cost of 1 trip to Hawaii, you could take 3 vacations to islands elsewhere. Hawaii is overrated & overpriced. |

Main island? We stayed on Maui. While it was a wonderful time, I share Scoreheads' thoughts. Save your money and go to any number of other places. |

While I have never been, it is something we have talked about doing. I would want to see a lot but at the same time don't like the idea of changing hotels every few days. So I am thinking if we do it it would be from a cruise ship. NCL ports a ship in Honolulu. http://www.ncl.com/cruise-destination/hawaii/overview |

Had a client who lived in Lanai. Older lady, didnt want to fly, talk on the phone, etc So once a year she paid for me and her attorney to come out for a week to Lanai and go over everything. From what I got is that lanai is the real unexplored areas, quiet, etc. and not a kid portion of the Islands....ate fish tacos on the beach from a roadside stand and very few people around...went on a jungle tour, once again, nobody around....lanai for 4 days, maui for 2.....Maui is for the family. |

I went there 25 years ago so I likely won't be much help but I really liked seeing Pearl Harbor and we also spent some time on Maui which I remember having much better waves to boogie board on. Also took a catamaran trip and snorkeled as well as a sailboat to watch whales. I was glad my parents took us as I doubt I could afford to go back again as an adult. |

Kauai is very similar to this from what I have heard and in doing business with over the years was always told by the locals that it is a lot less tourism on this island. |

The appeal of the beach bum lifestyle has always been high on my list. I would do a reality show..."CAN YOU BE A BEACH BUM?" |

been to BIG Island twice on father-in-law's dime. Its fucking awesome and I would move there in a heartbeat. Just a place to chill for the most part. Or hiking if you're in for that kind of thing. |

I'd recommend the Wailea area of Maui, and suggest doing the trip to Hana with an open-top Jeep. I also like doing the bike ride down the mountain (they drive you to the top at dawn and you basically coast down the mountain for a few hours with almost no pedaling). |

Beautiful area with some world class resorts (the Four Seasons is maybe the world's perfect place) and you can drive easily for cool stuff to do--Hana hwy, as mentioned, private snorkeling in coves, etc. "Maui Revealed" is an excellent travel guide. http://www.amazon.com/Maui-Revealed-The ... 0983888736 |
