Did my first group video project at Illinois Center for Broadcasting. We learned how to do different shots and we had to have people come from one room to another. We decided to a horror movie type thing. I'm the "killer" I uploaded the video to Youtube and I was looking for some feedback on how it looks. https://youtu.be/EWh4g8J1o5A |

If anything, IVCC can use it to promote their Serial Murder program. |

Spanky could be one of the "dunkers", when he takes the burger from the bun, dunks the bun in water and compresses it. |

i want to say the slow running vs. cane was on purpose. at least, i thought it was amusing. the music was a nice touch. one thing that can always emphasize suspense in a film is close ups and cuts. not too many cuts, but enough to keep you guessing on where the next shot will be, and who will be in it. the climax in rob zombie's "halloween" is a great example of this. too many long shots will kill suspense because you're seeing too much. key to horror is what you don't see, and the anticipation of what you will. |

the technical aspects seemed fine for a first try The key to horror is psychology. Find what universally makes people uncomfortable and somehow set your victim in those situations. In scenes where a potential victim is moving, I have always found that the best way to heighten horror is to move from the open space to progressively smaller spaces until the victim is finally stuck in a closeted type space. The clausterphobia subconsciously upsets the audience. In that scene, pan the entire classroom, make it look huge. The hallway shot is fine but you showed too much hallway. It didn't shrink the space. The next hallway was shorter and cluttered which is good, however, she still had the ability to escape. Maximize the thrill with a dead end or closet. |

I love the old school IVCC Apaches jacket, kiss. Cool video. Is that the new Miller Media Facility? Apaches was the mascot before the PC Police started hounding schools with Native-American characters/mascots to change. Now we are the Illinois Valley Community College Eagles. Never gonna get any flak over that mascot for sure! Bonus question for my fellow Illinois Valley brothers... You guys remember when IVCC had an all out kick-ass football program? What year was the final snap before it got sacked from the curriculum? |

spmack wrote: I want to see some more of this chick. I feel if you somehow worked being unable to see her face into the short, it would definitely add to the suspense. |
