Wouldn't making Chicago it's own state be some messed up Hunger Games shit? Isn't the city subtly (or blatantly I dunno) kicking out all the poor people? The chads and trixies knocking down multi-family housing to build suburban equivalent dwellings? Pricing out middle class population further and further to the outskirts? And, shoot, if Chicago would become a state I assume the southern border would be Roosevelt Road right? |

Where Chicago goes Oak Park, Evanston, Cicero, Des Plaines, Park Ridge etc. will follow. Much of suburban Cook County is actually denser than large swaths of the city. |
