Teacher/District was found negligent for not immediately dialing 911 and instead getting the school nurse when the kid collapsed. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/aurora-beacon-news/news/ct-abn-oswego-wrongful-death-st-0603-20150604-story.html Harper told lawyers he ran over to Stewart, who was shaking violently, and turned him on his side to prevent him from choking. Stewart's health file showed he had asthma and took medication for it, court records show, and his teachers had been informed of his condition. Harper sent two students to get the school nurse, who said Stewart wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse when she got to the room. She performed CPR and told Harper to call 911. He called the nurse's office and asked someone there to call the paramedics, who arrived on the scene at 1:34 p.m. They continued to work on Stewart — who hadn't regained a pulse — and arrived at the hospital by 2 p.m., where he eventually was pronounced dead. Lawyers for Stewart would later argue that the teacher should have called 911 immediately after Stewart's collapse and that his failure to do so resulted in Stewart's death. |

The family doesn't deserve shit , the teacher reacted quickly n sent for the nurse..she's gotta be equal to or greater than an EMT.. N she's hundreds of feet away ..unfortunate outcome but nobody is to blame here. |

so schools provide teachers with phones nowadays. imagine that. I used to have send a note. with a runner. Johnny, please bring this note to the office: KID DOWN. CALL 911! |
