Don't give a shit what the numbers say...what's your view on your own situation and are things really that much better now than 10 years ago? Will it continue to be better?

It is not better than 10 years ago. The fact that interest rates haven't moved up a tic is the biggest indicator, IMO. Just the thought, disscussion, of the latest Fed meeting minutes sends a shutter thru Wall St.

I think dropping the interest rate so low was a bad move in the first place, but you can't un-ring that bell. Number should have moved already and has to be moved up sooner rather than later. There will be pain by this action, but it must be taken.

That conversation has been going for over a year now. Dont think anyone...Yellen...wants to be the one who moves the ticker...and bad things happen right after. Not saying it is because of the interest rate. I do see a move up right at the end of the year and then nothing for while after that.

I know the economists will all say it had to be done...but the people will cry...and the Senators who know NOTHING will fry her in a hearing...she wont crack there. but wont do it again for a long time.

The income hasn't changed too much from 2008. But the worry is not there either. My job is considerably more stable and I don't worry about being outsourced anymore.

Do bankers and executives still have their heads attached to their bodies? Yes?

Things are just as bad as they were.

More people are working and they're more productive but they aren't getting paid a decent wage.

I'm making about 125% more than what I was making before the crash.

With the situation in Greece and China, along with next year being an election year, we are expecting things to slow down a bit. I am seeing my distributors working inventory levels down. We expect modest growth around 3% next year.

Personally I am better off now than 10 years ago.

I am better off, but that is mostly due to taking my skills and aggressive looking to find better employment.

The American dollar is still relatively weak...mostly due to irresponsible government spending.
American Jobs continue to be sold to other countries.
Real estate has improved some....but nothing to get excited about.
Here's the kicker...Healthcare...most notably Health Insurance continues to increase at a pace for greater than income.

I believe overall the economy is crap and not betting better any time soon.

Service industry limitation is just the workforce at this point....its why Texas continues to thrive...very large workforce and affordable living conditions....

China is going to be a HUGE issue in the next 2 years,,,,Worldwide recession type of issue

When interest rates have been this low for this long, and the economy still sucks.....we have problems.

Can't speak for 10 years ago, as I was just getting out of my futile effort of getting a 4 year degree I would never use, but my job is in far better shape than it was 5 or so years ago when the facility I work at went through two layoffs.

...dont forget the ever shrinking workforce, that props up that employment rate nicely.
