This might be worth it to get to that Bears game in San Diego |

$149 round trip leaving Chicago on Saturday and going back on Tuesday afternoon. Perfect for that Bear-Charger MNF game Nov 9. Is getting from LA to SD a pain in the ass? |

We're planning Vegas for that weekend. Sunday in Vegas for those games, and then either driving or flying to San Diego on Monday morning for the Bears game. |

I would suggest taking a train. |

Going to see a football game is probably the last thing you should want to do in San Diego. |

Since the Bears are in San Diego during our selected weekend, we figured it might be fun to attend the game in person. Our trip is not San Diego specific, we just thought it would be a nice wrinkle on our Vegas trip. |

just looked at it through united's regular site and I can get to SD for about $300. I save $150 on the flight but will lose that savings in transit to SD from LA. I can go on spirit for under $200. Didn't we agree that Spirit sucks? |

What am I missing? A group of 4 of us went to Vegas with them once: On the way out, overbooked, had to take 2 different flights out there a couple hours apart, no huge deal. On the way back, they cancelled the flight in the middle of the night (maybe 6-8 hrs before departure?) and the 4 of us had to take 3 different flights to get home. 2 of our group had to fly into Iowa (either Des Moines or QC, can't remember) and drive from there. My wife and I got the luxury of flying into Chicago, but had to do it on 2 different days. ![]() I'm good on ever using them again. |

I'd rather spend a weekend at 26th and Cali than take a trip on Take-Your-Money-And-Break-Your-Spirit Airlines. http://www.theonion.com/article/faa-rep ... orst-32371 Spirit customer service training teaches their phone customer people 100 different ways to tell their customers to go fuck themselves. "We have your money. We're not giving any of it back. Or providing you with any service or value. So what are you gonna do about it, punk." |

Purchased flight home from Vegas to leave at noon. I paid to check-in luggage online because (1) cheaper than at ticket kiosk (2) cheaper paying to carry-on. That's annoying but whatever. Our flight ended up being delayed 6 hours because supposedly one of the pilots got sick. So our plane in San Diego couldn't get to Vegas to take us to Chicago. They're a barebones Mickey Mouse operation. Flying already sucks and Spirit's business model is built on testing the limit people will accept being dehumanized and shaken down. You don't save thaaaat much when you consider the experience. |

And yes, I did decline the trip insurance. |
