I think the political section was culled years ago (thanks to a few posters who will remain nameless!) but I am totally looking forward to this debate. Mostly because of Trump. Trump to me is like an unstable bomb... he's going to go off at some point in an irrecoverable way, but along the way, he's probably going to take out many of the GOP candidates. And as luck would have it, I'm on a cruise next week and I'm going to miss all of it! My take is that Trump will cruise through this round... his opponents are sick of the focus being on him, so I think the majority of them will not attack him. There may be one or two guys that do take him on, but the risk is that he will just crucify you because he doesn't have any political sensibilities. I can almost guarantee you that he'll run over whoever the moderator is at least once -- would be interested to see how snippy the moderator gets. If I were one of the other 9 candidates, I think I would take on a candidate other than Trump with some bold statements to get my name bumped up in the press. Coming out of the two debates, I think I want to end up in the top 2 in the early debate, and the top 7 in the second debate. There definitely needs to be a culling of the field for the party's sake - hoping by the CNN debate we are down to 10 or fewer candidates. |

And then he will agree to participate in every other political debate if the moderators agree to invite him, but never talk to him or ask questions at their own debates. |

There is no way that Trump won't exceed the allotted answer time for each question asked of him. I can also see him ignoring the moderator as he or she attempts to intercede in this matter. |

It's unfortunate for SNL that its new season doesn't start until Septemeber 26. These first couple rounds of debates could potentially be comedy gold. |

Round one of the clown car debate will feature: Donald Drumpf, John Ellis Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Dr. Ben Carson, Rafael Cruz, Marco Rubio, Dr. Randal Paul, Chris Christie, and John Kasich. The opening act will feature the B team of Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Piyush Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, George Pataki, and Jim Gilmore. *edited to give Carson and Paul the proper Dr. status. |

I look forward to political debates like I look forward to Hawks playoff games, or the super bowl. The DVR is set for both the minor and major league debates. Having said that, this isnt a debate its an interview. A debate is when 2 or more people engage and converse with each other. Thursday night is just a Q&A session. They should let the candidates ask each other questions so there can be actual debate. |

I am gonna say that the Fox debates for republicans will go exactly as Chus says they go. Probably will be better had they been on a liberal station with that fat pig that answered Obama's points from Romney for him. ![]() |
