Could be. Who knows. http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski ... .vrp3DKm0Y Supporters of Al Gore have begun a round of conversations among themselves and with the former vice president about his running for president in 2016, the latest sign that top Democrats have serious doubts that Hillary Clinton is a sure thing. |

I hadn't thought about it, and I think it would be a bit of a job to get him relevant again, but I think he'd be far more likely to win than a Biden or any other democrat. I think Hilary is going to get reamed for this email nonsense, and Dems need a backup plan that is better than anybody except Jeb. |

I think there are many Dems who are concerned that Hils will once again shit the bed, but I don't think Gore is their answer. |

People don't want a serious person as president. That's why goofs like Trump and Clinton are leading the polls. If you want a real president you have Lincoln Chafee. He's about 100 times smarter than Al Gore or anyone else in this fucking race. |

I think it was the repeal of Glass-Steagal which kind of flummoxed him. He stated that he voted for it without having all the facts. He said it was difficult for him to provide the correct vote because his father had just passed and he was new to the seat. He also jammed him on his party affiliation changes. Chafee stated that he only became a Democrat two yrs ago. |

I didn't have a problem with the party change thing. He's been a traditional New England liberal Republican and the party abandoned him. Fair enough. But after sounding genial and reasonable all night, the Glass-Steagall questioning made him seem like a complete buffoon. |

He hit candidates where they were vulnerable. 2. He kept it issue oriented and not personality driven. 3. He utilized follow up questioning. 4. He allowed the candidates an opportunity to rebut and refute the assertions of other candidates. He didn't allow them to use talking points that much and made the questioning specific to the candidate most of the time. That is the way debates are supposed to be conducted. |

Well, he was pretty much saying he made an uniformed vote, or voted the way his father would have, or went along with the party line. I can understand why some people wouldn't want a president who would make a vote that way and that's totally fair, I would submit that you got real honesty from him that you aren't going to get from a single one of these other goofs. Speaking as someone who knows him as an acquaintance, he's a real guy, super smart, honest, and someone who never wanted to accept a silver spoon. He switched parties because the Republicans don't reflect his values. We could do- and have done- a lot worse at president. |

It's just that the whole Glass-Steagall repeal sequence couldn't have gone any worse for him without him saying "I dunno the dog ate it." Sure, it was a total gotcha move from Cooper, but the dithering and dissembling just made him look terrible. It was a shame, because as a marginal candidate to begin with, he couldn't afford to be clowned like that. At least he didn't incessantly bitch about his time like Captain Wacky on the other side of the stage. |

No Child Left Behind from the same era also changed our lives. NAFTA under the Bill Clinton reign also changed our lives. Crack was introduced to the US cities under Ronald Reagan has changed our lives. Obamacare continues to impact my out of pocket healthcare coverage and cost. so that's a daily impact. I think it's safer to say our vote doesn't matter to our daily lives as regardless of who wins it's meet the new boss same as the old boss, but the Presidency itself does impact us. |
