Fox sideline reporter and Dancing with the Stars host Erin Andrews wants Marriott International and others to pay $75 million in a lawsuit stemming from a 2008 incident in which she was secretly taped, nude, through a hotel room's peephole.

Andrews, 37, accused the hotel chain and Michael David Barrett of negligence and invasion of privacy in the suit, originally filed in 2011, after Barrett allegedly videotaped her and distributed the explicit footage online, ABC reported.

Andrews's attorney, Randall Kinnard, declined to comment on the matter.

Barrett eventually pleaded guilty to interstate stalking and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in 2010, but the ordeal didn't end with his imprisonment.


Andrews was ordered to specify the amount of damages after defense lawyers sought a judicial order for her to do so, Fox News reports. She filed the amended claim on Tuesday, seeking the $75 million, plus costs and interest "and any other costs this Court deems fair," according to court documents obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Police said in 2009 that Barrett made up to eight separate videos and posted them online, officials said Barrett even tried to sell the footage to TMZ, but instead of posting the clips, an employee notified Andrews's attorney, according to ABC.

He allegedly gouged out the peepholes and recorded Andrews on his cellphone. The footage went viral.

Andrews holds that the hotel chain is ultimately to blame because its employees told Barrett she was staying at the hotel, gave him her room number and even booked him into the room next door to hers, according to Fox News.

The Marriott did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE.

A trial date has been set for February and is expected to last 10 days

$75 mill for what? Lost Income?

if I am Marriott, I go to court and argue her fame / IQ/ earnings actually went way up after this episode. So to claim this damaged her, well, I think the numbers will show much different.

I have a feeling her legal team will be DiCaro and Spain on this one....and there is a "Marriott hates all females" angle coming.

$75M is a ridiculous figure that she and her attorney threw out to hopefully settle for like $5M.

If the hotel actually gave that yahoo her info and room number, and placed him next door at his request, she does have a point that the hotel was negligent - he could have done a lot worse than take and try to distribute videos - but not $75M.

This is just a classic case of there being no harm in asking for the moon. It happens all the tims. Her lawyer knows she won't get 75 million. But why not ask for it? You're gonna get whatever you're gonna get anyway.

First thought that went through my mind when I saw that was, what a Caller Bob. Plus,she is not that attractive. If she was in Playboy i would not go out of my way to get it like some of the other celeb issues i have.

What she did was actually up the $$$ 's asked for from the suit she filed in 2010 for $10 mill. Naming 4 parties in the suit. The perv dude and the hotel entities.

I will just guess that things have come to a stalemate in the talks, so her reponse was to increase the $$$ to $75 mill.

Which I find even more amusing now, as if something has happened or she lost out on something since 2010 until today...

Hmmm....because of her increased fame, one could argue she got on Dancing with the Stars, Got a Good Morning America gig, #1 roving reporter on FOX sports games, she has or had deals with Reebok, Stubhub, Truebiotics....

Name me any other female sports journalists at any level that has had more oppurtunuties that Andrews? and even if you can, these all came after that incident...

You've got this all wrong. She was famous before the stalking or whatever thing (being on ESPN for five years can do that), that's why she was harassed in the first place...she was well known. She isn't in the Hilton/KK crowd where she tried to intentionally inflate her fame through shadow releasing some sultry photos of herself. And the guy did this twice: once in Tennessee and one in Wisconsin. I'm still not sure what's preventing you from looking at Andrews as a legitimate victim of a crime.

While I assume this is in jest, it really is simple to look at Pre Peeping and post peeping. Dont think she had 1 endorsement or side gig and thats when she was hotter and "tighter", then after this horrific episdoe of her life, she has become famous. Maybe its not what she wanted, or she wanted it, but the long term effect of this has been nothing but positive for her. Outisde of the nightmares of someone taping her in the peephole of her hotel rooms

If you have ever hung out with any pro athlete odds are you will find a female making themselves VERY available to them.

I mean just ridiculousely available to the point that you look at the girl and wonder if they have any respect for themselves. I am not talking about Superstar athletes, I am talking about Kyle Calder level athlete!

So even the guys who are married, or long term relationships with a GF...they all have side strange. Even the damn refs.....why do you think most of these guys have no problem essentially living on the road for months of a year.

its true. and i think she is being a little oversensitive to the whole thing. she didnt get raped and physically threatened in any way. everyone saw her boobies. big deal it happens to high school girls all over the planet. the perv was thrown in jail and thats justice. sucks technology allowed everyone to see her naked but shes acting like her life was ruined because of it and it wasnt
