From Fox32 ![]() There is outrage after Chicago police shot and killed a 16-year-old boy. In Homan Square on Monday night, police pulled over a car that was connected to an earlier shooting. Police say Pierre Loury jumped out and an officer chased him. Police say Loury then pointed a weapon at the officer and that is when he was shot. But a witness claims he saw officers "high five" each other after the teen was gunned down. Photo Vigil, protest held after Chicago cop fatally shoots 16-year-old boy And now, protesters are demanding justice. A group held a vigil at the scene of the shooting and then marched onto the Eisenhower. Even though the facts of this case are still far from clear, there are those on the side of Loury who claim this was not a justified shooting, despite what police say that he pointed a gun at an officer, and that the gun was recovered at the scene. It threatened to turn ugly Tuesday night as protesters loudly and angrily confronted police in front of the station where the officers involved in the chase and shooting work. Police managed to keep order and move the protesters down the street. Earlier, several hundred people marched down the alley to the spot where Loury was shot and killed as he ran from a police stop a block away. “We do believe that this individual turned and pointed the handgun at the officer the handgun was recovered at the scene where the young man was shot,” said 1st Deputy Supt. John Escalante. Police radio transmissions captured the intensity of the moment, and a neighbor facing the alley posted a video on Facebook of the scene shortly after the chaotic moment. Loury’s mother, overcome with emotion, joined the vigil as supporters chanted against police and in support of Loury. “They gunned down one of our brothers, they executed him. 16 years old. 16 years old. He should be here right now,” one person said at the vigil. Police say Loury was a documented gang member. He posted a picture of himself holding a handgun on his Facebook page. People who knew him, though, did not think he would have been carrying a gun Monday night. |

The cops are now running up against "Boy Who Cried Wolf" syndrome. Maybe what they're saying is true in this case, but with their history, who could believe it? |

People are idiots. Why would you protest something like this? That being said I wouldn't be surprised if the cops did high five each other. Some police are assholes. |

I am not on Facebook. Is it common for people to post pictures of themselves with guns or drugs on the site? Maybe it's a badge of honor for hunters, gun enthusiasts, gang members and others to post such things to show off to their friends and like minded individuals. If I saw a picture of any child with a gun posted on Instagram or Facebook, my first instinct as a parent would be to think that child is on the wrong path. |

Honestly, in any of these shootings nowadays, I am 50/50 as to who is as fault. I have little faith in law enforcement to make the right decisions in the heat of the moment. There has been enough video evidence for doubt to creep in my mind as to the justification of these shootings. |

Bad reporting, why would the high five negate that he could have pulled the gun. I would say if the cops car didn't have a functioning camera shit should hit the fan. |

There's definitely a boy who cried wolf element, but if what happened here is true, there's nothing to protest. I also have a hard time believing the cops high-fived, either, unless they are some absolute psychopaths who haven't watched the news in the last five years. |

There are two issues here. If he pointed a gun at them the high fiving is irrelevant to the shooting. If they did high five, they should face discipline. |

I have heard, though I don't necessarily believe, that there was recording of the police officers saying they were going to shoot someone when responding to the Mc Donald call and that it was somehow buried by Alvarez's office. I do believe there are some sociopaths out there carrying badges. |

I believe there are cops who would high five in that situation. Most cops are probably good people but there are definitely a small percentage who are complete psychos and absolutely want to use their gun. |

I thought the Mayor was going to provide each unit with a stun gun to avoid shooting perps. IF this kid had a gun while climbing a fence, maybe a stun gun would have been more appropriate. |

I think it was just his mom who has 6 kids. There were a lot of relatives on the news but I did not see a dad. |

If there is going to be outrage, protests, and marches after a kid who is likely a gang member gets shot in the chest following an armed confrontation with police officers, the movement (BLM or whoever is organizing them) is going to lose a lot of support very quickly. |

This had nothing to do with BLM. Just idiots looking for a reason to blame someone else. |

Each protest should be judged on it's merits, imo. I understand your point though. |
