Chopped is a fantastic show, IMO. Has anyone else ever watched it?

I love this show, too, though not so much when they use really weird ingredients. I don't mind using stuff off the beaten path to challenge the chefs, but when it's way off the beaten path (can't think of anything specific but know it when I see it), it annoys me.

I like when a contestant gets mouthy with the judges, especially if the judge is that douche Scott Conant. Who died and made him the authority on Italian food?

I like the show as well.

The vast array of ingredients that can be sprung on a contestant and the creative ways the chefs use them is always interesting.

Geoffrey Zakarian use to irritate me until he showed how good of a chef he is in the all-star episodes. At least he holds himself to the same high standards.

Sometimes the bizarre mystery basket stuff does go a bit too far, but at the same time, I like learning about obscure ingredients.

It is really impressive when they come up with something that sounds at least halfway decent. Some of these baskets are really just torture in a box. I always think about what I would make and I never come up with anything close to what they do. Except for the ones who suck.

That definitely describes his look. I had never seen/heard of him until an episode of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," and my immediate thought was this guy is a douche!

Chopped is my new go to show on the Food Network since they seem to have abandoned showing Good Eats with any regularity anymore...

I believe that they wrapped up production on that show relatively recently. Great show.
