At the young age of 92,this crabby dude is finally calling it quits. On 60 Minutes, nobody gets fired. You either die (Ed Bradley) or just retire very, very old (Mike Wallace).

Loved him. Hope he is well. First character I remember, which is a little odd, considering...

Andy Rooney was one of the great mults. It was weird that W_Z would stalk himself, but to each his own.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this last interview. I won't miss Andy Rooney a great deal or anything, but 60 Minutes and Sunday evenings are better off with him than without.

Nothing better than a crusty old guy talking to you at the end of the show. I nominate Reason to take his place.

Andy Rooney isn't getting any younger, but he's tried to downplay reports that he's been ill in recent months. It's been reported that Rooney's health has been in decline and that recent news coverage on the whole has explained why he's been conspicously absent from the venerable CBS News prime time magazine in recent months.

There has also been talk for quite sometime about "60 Minutes" minus Rooney, even before his 1,097th and final essay last night. He stopped short of calling it retirement, but I'll be interested to find out how CBS News will fill its final "Few Minutes" near the end of the show starting next Sunday.

I don't think this is necessarily true.

What if he has that Benjamin Button disease?

He's 92 years old, SJ, and dare may I say, a candidate for some morning zookeeper's "Dead Pool"...

He may not be "ill" at the moment but he sure has been bad for quite some time now.
